Dear Admission Committee,
I am writing this letter to give my highest possible recommendation for …….., who is
applying to ……. program at ……... She is one of the most hardworking students in Department
of ……………………. I know her since 6 years ago, when she was the head of ……… Student
Association which at that time was holding the second national competition of “Glider Design
and Manufacturing”. In that teamwork task, her leadership skill proved to be terrific and resulted
in very well-organized hosting from our school.
Later down the road, she took, “Introduction to Finite Element Methods” course with me.
Not only she got A, but also the quality of her assignments and projects was absolutely unique.
While spending reasonable amount of time on projects, she was able to pull up the very deep
features of each project skillfully. She is an active learner and critical thinker and I believe these
traits of her will be great assets for her future advisors. Plus, she has a deep understanding of
mathematics which I don’t see so often among other students.
As I was the examiner of her BSc Thesis Projects, I noticed her immense diligence. She
chose a challenging topic but did a perfect job ……………… She comprehensively investigated
the complexities of the system and creatively suggested new modifications. There I saw her
knowledge and interests in different fields that will definitely her to become successful in any
interdisciplinary research. She is working with my colleague who is an expert in system
engineering and design and she has been trained for many years in his lab.
Her master thesis, was one the most challenging subjects defined in the recent years. As
it was an interdisciplinary project she had to study and do research a lot to accomplish a
successful project. I observed her enthusiasm and endeavor during the project. Also she had an
independent project about …….. which lead to a very successful international conference paper.
It is normally challenging for a student to come up with a paper like that by her/his own.
Beside her eagerness in science and broad knowledge, her perseverance and intelligence,
are the keys to success in any academic field. The perfect choice for her is to pursue PhD and I
am sure working in health science related technology is a great fit to her creative mind in
developing new ideas. I think she deserves to study in a prestigious Institute like …………. and
she would be an outstanding asset to your program. I give her my highest recommendation.
