They talked about what a great company it was, the great opportunities, what was going on, how it was developing and how it was expanding. And that they thought it would be a really great place for me to look for an opportunity and join them. I looked on the job website and found the opportunity for Business Risk Manager and applied. LV= is a growing organisation with a lot of opportunities coming up in the future and I am keen to find out what those opportunities are and grow with the organisation. I would say the LV= culture is inclusive, open-minded. Management promote development plans and give everybody the opportunity to discuss where they would like to go with their careers. What training and development have you had? Training and development wise, working in a fast paced environment like the marketing team means I have to keep up to date with the latest innovations and technology. So I regularly subscribe to magazines, go to seminars and conferences to see how I can apply this to the LV= brand. I’ve also recently completed an IDM professional marketing qualification which was fully supported by LV=. This means I am able to apply what I have learnt in the classroom directly into my role.

If you want to be part of a refreshing and exciting company, if you want to use your skills and experience to help shape the future of LV=, if you want to be recognised and rewarded for the hard work that you do, then LV= is the right place for you.

One sentence to describe LV=? Working at LV= the brand and the values are everywhere that you look; you can never be in any doubt of where you are.

Limor FeingoldHead of Group Financial Planning, Finance What were your expectations before joining LV=? The expectations I had of LV= before joining were really based on two things. Firstly, like any good accountant I had done some homework on the company and I had seen that financially the company was strong and growing and also its brand reputation was improving. Secondly, and probably more importantly, the people I had come across at interview gave across a very positive impression. Their impression was mainly of being modern and of being progressive which is maybe something that people don’t associate with insurance companies. But for me the people I met were a very strong indication of the expectations that I would have when I joined the company.

How did you arrive at LV=? Well my journey at arriving at LV= was quite indirect actually, I hadn’t considered a career in financial services until the opportunity came along. However, when I did hear about the opportunity, I realised that it was a role I had done before, albeit not in a sector that I had worked in. Principally, when I came for the interview I found the attitude of the interviewers very refreshingly different. They were looking a lot more at potential and attitude rather than sector experience. On top of that, I was doing my homework on the company and I found out that the company had a very good recent history and is actually very strong financially, so as apposed to a number of other companies I had seen, LV= is actually a very strong and attractive employer.

What do you enjoy about working at LV=? What I enjoy about working at LV= really encompasses the professional side of things, but also the human side of things. Professionally, although I understand my role and I have been in this position before, technically it’s all quite new to me and I really do learn something new everyday, so I’ve got a steep learning curve, which is a double edged sword, but is something I do quite enjoy. On the human side of things, there is a lot of support within the company for people like me, there are a lot of new people and it’s a bit of a cliché but there is a family atmosphere, a lot of support that gets me through a lot of what I do and that is something that I really do enjoy.

What is the working environment like? The working environment at LV= is good. I work in a large open plan office and what I particularly like is that although I work in the support service area, in the same building we do have customer facing staff, so you really do get a feel for what the company is doing on a day to day basis.

Has LV= lived up to your expectations? My expectations before joining LV= was that the role would be technically challenging, but also the people I was expecting to be welcoming and supportive. And to being totally frank, both of those have come to pass. Not a day goes past where I don’t feel like I don’t quite know what’s going on. However the support and the way people do treat me have really lived up to my expectations.

How would you describe the LV= culture? If I were to describe LV= culture, I could only really talk about the areas that I have come across. The company does have a number of values that it actively promotes, especially on the customer facing side of the business. However, these do come through to my area, to the services support areas of the business and I describe them as being personal, being open, being caring, these are actively managed which I find quite unusual. Even if you go up to senior management, there is an openness there and if you have an opinion I really do believe people will listen to it. So generally I would describe the culture as being progressive, modern and open and I think it really does dispel some of the urban myths about financial and insurance service sector companies of maybe five or ten years ago.

What career opportunities are available? There are a lot of career opportunities here at LV= as the company continues to grow there are always vacancies. And what I particularly like is that internal recruitment is very actively encouraged. I work in support services but there are always opportunities to move across into the more operational side of the business. And also at the senior level, there are opportunities, so if you want to move on or progress your career those opportunities are always there.

What benefits do you appreciate at LV=? The benefits that I appreciate at LV= cover the usual staff discount on insurance products but also the canteen that I use pretty much every day but also our cycle to work scheme which allows me to get a cut price bike and cycle in from home every day if I chose to.

Why would someone want to work for LV=? If you are someone that is looking to join a growing company or even maybe change sectors into the financial services sector I think that is very much something that LV= could offer you. Furthermore, in terms of work/life balance it is something I think you could manage yourself very actively and for me that is a very important element to working here.
