RNC BACKUP PROCEDURE ON ZTE RNC (ZXWR RNC) NODE:
Prerequisites
    Netnumen client installed on PC/laptop FTP Client installed on PC/Laptop LAN connection to the RNC IP addresses for the RNC

NB: The RNC has two ip addresses – one for the OMMR (i.e. Operation and Maintenance Centre for RNC, Radio) and another for the OMMB (i.e. Operation and Maintenance Centre for NodeB)

STEPS
1. BACKING UP OMMR a) Log in the network management (NetNumen) client for OMMR and enter your username and password

b)

Go to View and select Configuration Management

c) Select Management>Data Management >Data Backup

(i) You get a Pop up window with label Data Backup (ii) Choose file storage path ftp://sysbak:***@RNC ip address:20021 as shown below (iii)Select Auto folder and click OPEN

(iv) Enter file name prefix for the file to be backed up according to the format: RNC_XX_OMMR_ YYYYMMDD , where XX =RNC ID, e.g. RNC_33_OMMR_20130407 (v) Enter backup remark for the reason e.g. weekly back up/ back after board swap (vi) Choose managed element to backup as shown below and TICK the check box at the bottom left of the window indicating Only backup active Configset(s)

d) Click OK and backup process starts ‐ indicating backup progress as shown

e) . Backup Result indicates whether data has been backed up successfully or not and backup file

f) TRANSFERRING THE BACKUP FROM RNC TO AN EXTERNAL LOCATION (i) Using any FTP Client program, transfer a backed up file from the RNC; the following is the required information.     RNC Node IP Address Port= 10021 Username=womcr/root Password=womcr123/root123

FTP DIRECTORY=/home/womc/ZXWR‐RB/WOMC/ums‐svr/backup/sysmanager (this corresponds to the location ftp://sysbak:***@RNC ip address: 20021/ listed above.

(ii) Select the location of the file and retrieve the backed up file or deposit the file that is to be used for data recovery.

2. BACKING UP OMMB a) Log in the network management (NetNumen) client for OMMR and enter your username and password.

b) Follow steps (a) to (f) above NB: (i) On step (c)(iv), the backup file name format is RNC_XX_OMMB_YYYYMMDD where XX=RNC ID, e.g. RNC_33_OMMB_20130407 (ii) On (c)(vi), Choose managed element to backup as shown below and TICK the check box at the bottom left of the window indicating Only backup active Configset(s) as shown below
