reetings from all of the students, staff and families at Bachrodt Charter Academy! School is in full swing at BCA and the school year is off to a great start! We are excited to share some news from Bachrodt with the RGNA neighborhood. Prior to the first day of school, students attended a Back to School Kick Off event on Saturday, August 11. Students and parents had the opportunity to meet teachers and find out what class they were in. There was a uniform fashion show and a big resource fair where families could find all of the information they would need to make it a great school year. The back to school event has become a wonderful Bachrodt tradition over the last several years. Classes began on August 15 and students are already busy! The kindergarten students had some time to transition to school with a half day schedule for the first two weeks of school. They are now on a regular, HEIDI WOLCOTT full day schedule and are Vice President, Bachrodt PTA excited to be at Bachrodt. The PTA sponsored a family movie night under the stars on Friday, August 24. Over 100 families attended this special event, enjoying popcorn, nachos and being together to celebrate another school year. The PTA will be sponsoring after school enrichment classes again this year. Students will be able to participate in art, choir and dance classes during the semester. Students and their families will enjoy PTA sponsored events all semester, including more movie nights, a Halloween carnival, the annual Turkey Trot walk-a-thon and a holiday celebration. The Bachrodt community wishes to thank the RGNA for their support and for working with us to provide a safe and friendly neighborhood where our chldren can go to school. We are looking forward to another great year! Sincerely, Heidi Wolcott PTA officer, neighbor and parent

Many residents were able to meet with members of San Jose Police Department throughout the event, and those who stayed to the very end were treated to an appearance by San Jose Fire Station #5 firefighters and a fire engine.
