Same day technique
o Appointment 1 7:45-9 am

o 15 min
 casts with slurry dental
o 10 min
 casts are mounted with lab plaster









o 35 min
 teeth are setup and ready for try-in on SOFT
baseplate wax
o (about 1 hour from initial impressions)
Beeswax bite (mush bite)
Try in process
o 10 min – festoon and process
o 15 min reversible hydrocolloid
 agar
o 5 min clean off wax teeth
o 10 min
 replace teeth in reversible hydrocolloid
 replace cast in reversible hydrocolloid
o 5 min
 mix acrylic and pour sprues
o 45 min
 process and finish
o Deflasking is easy because of the reversible hydrocolloid

Denture base type 1 for conventional and type 2 for same day
(something to do with heat)

DR HSU LECTURE
o Beeswax mush bite
 Crockpot at medium
 Put it in pot, and mold, then put in mouth with no
dentures
 This will serve bite and vertical dimension
 Use fingernail to mark midline and horizontal line
(which is parallel to interpupillary line)
o Alginate tray
 Metal so they can reuse
 NO BOXING with wax before pouring
o To big post palatal seal (not a small thin one)
 But every technician has their own way
o They just put wax on microstone casts (not triad)
o All set up is different with each tech

o Flasking
 Agar (reusable)
 Heat then cool
 Remove denture
 Remove teeth, melt wax away in little tray thing
 Put teeth into mold
 Put acrylic into three holes in back
 Self curing acrylic (no pressure yet)
 Put into pressure pot for 20 min
o 80-90% done by assistant
o Economy dentures don’t get to pick shade
 Economy 310/496 (new shad pluse trademark)
 Costum 490/825
 725/1225
 925/1645 (whiter teeth, same class as blueline or
portrait ipn)
 adjustments up to 60 days
o adjust dentures at no charge, remake dentures at no charge,
repair all dentures at one year for no charge.
o Only if all else fails, offer refund.
