Look at your resume and imagine that resume is not yours, you are to read it. then, all spelling mistakes, font and font size, lengthy sentences, obscure words, etc. will be brought out. Check the spelling and traditional writing style: Errors in spelling and grammar are like a "deadly kiss" on your resume. The employer will think that you are not really interested in writing this resume. You should be careful with the Spelling & Grammar tool in MS. Word as it is not always correctly and covering all the mistakes in your resume. You need to make sure that you have read your resume and a hard copy by yourself before sending it. To be more careful, you may have another person check and make comment on your resume. Write a resume in time reserve order: Organize the content and timeline in your resume in a logical and structural way so that it can describe your working experience in time reserve order and right at the beginning. And also, remember that employer tends to look at more "stylish" resumes and really impress in ideas that are clear transferred through the resumes. You need to write so that the overall structure of the resume is presented clearly and coherently, like "a straight road with no blockage". It will be very difficult for the employer if he or she can't identify which job you did in which time, and that will surely make him/her dissatisfied. Simplify your wording: Use brief sentences and don't be afraid that the sentences are too short. Avoid using such words and phrases as "I", "Mine", "My", "I have", "I did", etc. Note that this resume is yours; certainly, everything you state in it will be about yours. Such pronounces and expressions are totally useless. And one more important point when you write a resume in English, instead of using articles such as "a", "an", "the", you may simplify them. For example: instead of writing "Coordinated the special events for the alumni association", write "Coordinated alumni association special events". Avoid any phrase such as "have participated in", "have helped", or similarity. If you are working for an organization, just state the title of your position and say nothing more about the organization. Then, you may describe a little about your responsibilities as well. Pay attention to the grammar. It should be better if you use active voice instead of passive voice.

Avoid using such expressions as "take responsibility for..." below each of your working experience point. Focus on what you achieved but not on what you had to do. Delete unnecessary words: Format your resume again to ensure there is no duplicate word or information and to make sure your resume is easy to read. You may make bold, italic or underlined important words (remember to not apply three ways for same part). The standard font should be Times New Roman or Arial at size 11. Summary all your part-time jobs you have done. For example: 2000-2002: Barista Café, Starbuck and Seattle, etc. Read out loud your resume: Read out loud your resume so that you can check for any error or mistake that needs to be corrected and clarified. If you notice any sentence that is not logical when you are reading, correct that sentence! Believe me! The employer will have similar feeling when reading the resume like you.
