Many people presume that drugs made of natural ingredients from earth are risk free and safe for consumption. This is not true. Saw Palmetto does have its side effects with many other medications. This can be potentially dangerous if one consumes it without knowing the risks involved.

Also, known as Serenoa reopens, Saw Palmetto side effects includes headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, decreased sex drive, impotence and gas. Although these side effects are not dangerous and life threatening. They can be bothersome enough to affect a person's daily life. Antihistamines are released naturally from human bodies to counter allergies and this process can cause one to experience shortness in breath. In serious cases, the airways are so narrow that one will produce wheezing sounds on expiration of air during breathing. These are potentially dangerous and can be life threatening if left untreated.

There are many rationales explaining the Saw Palmetto side effects. As saw palmetto is a natural herb supplement, it is not tightly regulated as compared to other prescription drugs. Saw Palmetto is sometime contaminated with other herbs, drugs and even metals during the manufacturing processes. This undoubtedly increased the risks and side effects of the herb. Therefore, it is extremely crucial to seek medical advices from pharmacists or doctors before purchasing a saw palmetto product. The credibility of the drug manufacturers is also crucial in the quality of a product.

The truth is, not all people will suffer Saw Palmetto side effects. Healthcare providers will not be able to know if one has any drug allergy on saw palmetto or any other drug. Unless one consumes it and develop adverse effects. Therefore, one is advisable to report any discomfort while taking the drug supplement or if one "just does not feel well".
