Scavenger Hunt Locations: Art Room - there will be a large puzzle waiting for the students, once they assemble the puzzle it will spell out the clue Junior Library -in the library there will be four pieces of rope and four knots, once the students have mastered all the knots they can receive the clue (maybe have a pirate volunteer waiting?) Senior Library When they enter into the library, there will be books lying down, they have to find the book with a boat/sea on it Student Lounge West Entrance Jungle Gym - when they arrive there will be a note on the gate, then the students will be direct to go port side “On a hot summer day, this is were we love to play” Winter Garden Have a pirate riddle that they have to solve Red Gym - when the students enter the parachute will be laid out, they will have to lift the parachut to find the clue written underneath Big Gym (second last) Haha you thought you had found your treasure HQ (last) The treasure will be waiting for them “To find the next room head West- to the place were we dock in the morning and disembark at night.” “If this room was a ship our next clue would be located port side.” “To find your next clues search out a room full of different worlds. We may not be on a ship but we could sure find out about them from a book.” “It’s a garden full of benches and stones, a place to relax and forget about the world.” “It’s a place to kick back and put up your feet, to talk and meet. Walk around and down the stairs you will see your next clue waiting for you.” “If the big kids are taking up all the space, we know this is the place to play. Not yellow, blue or green this room is a color that must be seen!” “For the next step in your quest, you must retrace your steps. Head back the way you have come to a place that is lots of fun. There is space to run and room to scream, the only thing missing is you and me!” “This is a room that always makes me smile, a place were mess is fun and never uncool. Look for a place that might a future artist make.” “When we were little this was the place to read, a rocking chair and a book made this a funny room, to bad we couldn’t be at sea!”

Game Plan! Stop One: Students will enter HQ to find a treasure map waiting for them (two per team). The crews will elect a captain, and the captain of each crew will rock/paper/scissor to decide which team will leave first. The clue will lead them to location one: “To find the next clue head west, to the place where we dock in the morning and disembark at night.” The West Entrance: Students will arrive to find three mini beaches (the plastic jars). The clue will say: “In front of you, you will see a sandy to place relax and sleep. If you were a critter what place would you pick to see?” (two will have tons of shells, and rocks, one will have one rock with a lizard/frog sitting on it) Underneath each jar is an envelope, the kids will pick the envelope to find the next clue. “To find your next clues search out a room full of different worlds. We may not be on a ship but we could sure find out about them from a book.” The Senior Library: Here when the students arrive they will have a pile of books and magazines, they will have to search through the books to find one about pirates/shipping, in this book will be hidden our next clue. “It’s a garden full of benches and stones, a place to relax and forget about the world.” The Winter Garden: Students will enter into the winter garden to find a flag hanging from each corner (four flags of felt). At the door there will be a sign saying “White means surrender, Red mean attack, if green means help blue must mean…” They will find a clue on the back of the blue flag “It’s a place to kick back and put up your feet, to talk and meet. Walk around and down the stairs you will see your next clue waiting for you.” The Student Lounge: Here students will arrive to find a big envelope full of puzzle pieces (made of construction paper by Alicia). This will show their next clue: “This is a room that always makes me smile, a place were mess is fun and never uncool. Look for a place that might a future artist make.” The Art Room:3 Students will find an envelope entitled “The Care and feeding of pirates arghhhh…” Here the students will have to work together to draw a pirate with his favorite meal, once this drawing is approved they may remove the clue envelope that will say “If I were I pirate I would spend all my time in the galley, as it is I love this place where I

can always have a snack and some cake!” The Cafeteria: Students will arrive to find three pieces of rope they must construct three different knots before they can move on to the next clue. “If the big kids are taking up all the space, we know this is the place to play. Not yellow, blue or green this room is a color that must be seen!” Red Gym: Students will arrive in the red gym to find the parachute laid out, they will lift it over their heads to read the next clue “For the next step in your quest, you must retrace your steps. Head back the way you have come to a place that is lots of fun. There is space to run and room to scream, the only thing missing is you and me!” The Big Gym: They will enter to see the wail, BUT there will be a sign on the gym door that will say “Shh the whale is sleeping, to get your treasure you must step light wait for the signal that will give you delight” Then they will wait for the other group to catch up they will then enter the whale where they will find the chest “Aha you are almost done your quest! To fulfill your dream take four pieces of gold apiece, only with this price may you achieve a pirate’s dream.”
