Should I Start A New Project? (or continue with an existing one)
______________________________________________________________________________ Use this worksheet to help figure out if now is the time to start a new project (or even continue with an existing project). Answer the questions in each of the following sections. If a particular question doesn¶t seem relevant, feel free to skip it. ______________________________________________________________________________

Section 1
How might this project impact my physical body? (e.g. long hours at the computer, any physical demands) Am I doing the project because I feel I might ³miss out´ on something? Or to ³fit in"? How might this project impact my personal safety? How might this project impact my ability to meet my physical needs (food, shelter)? With respect to this project, what am I afraid of?

______________________________________________________________________________

Section 2
How might this project impact my relationships/connections with others? How might this project impact my personal needs or desires? How do I feel about this project? What do I need in order to accomplish the project? Does any part of me feel guilty about starting this project?

Katherine M. Sauer, Ph.D.

Section 3
What are my instincts telling me about this project? What is my current capacity for undertaking this project? Do I currently have the energy/drive/will-power that this project will take? What would boost my confidence? What would shake my confidence? Is this project brining up past criticisms and judgments (either from me or from others)? Who might be critical of my project? How would I respond to that criticism? What will happen if I fail to complete this project?

______________________________________________________________________________

Section 4
Does this project help me to become more balanced in my life? What kind of compassion do I need for *myself* while working on this project? What kind of compassion or empathy do I need for others while working on this project? Are there any failed projects of mine that I need to let go of or make peace with in order to start this project fresh?

Katherine M. Sauer, Ph.D.

Section 5
How does this project help me to express/communicate my perspective? How does this project reflect *me*? Am I being true to myself in this project? Am I being truthful with myself *about* this project and what it entails? Am I being truthful with others?

______________________________________________________________________________

Section 6
What is my intuition telling me about this right now? How does this project relate to my personal patterns (e.g. I am doing it to help others at the expense of my time, I am doing it to receive recognition)? When I imagine my project, what do I see? Am I open-minded to my project evolving and changing from my current vision? Am I under any illusions about what undertaking my project will be like?

Katherine M. Sauer, Ph.D.

Section 7
What wisdom/knowledge do I have that I can bring to this project? How does this project relate to my current belief system? Is there part of me that wants to avoid this project? Am I getting fixated on this project? What do I need to learn in order to undertake my project? What can I learn from this project, whether or not I ever complete it? Is it wise to undertake my project at this time?

______________________________________________________________________________
