Abdominal pain with and urge to go to bathroom frequently. Fever and diarrhea which frequently accompanied with blood and/or mucous discharge. Sometimes diarrhea alternates with bouts of constipation, with one occurring for several days, followed by the other. When diarrhea becomes yellow containing neither mucous nor blood but is foamy, this is known as Giardia, an illness brought on by different type of microscopic parasite. When you have fever and bloody diarrhea, the infection is not caused by amoebas, but by bacteria and it is called Shigella
Signs and Symptoms
Although no symptoms may occur, the greater the number of worms involved in the infestation, the more severe a child's symptoms are likely to be. Kids are more likely than adults to develop gastrointestinal symptoms because they have smaller intestines and are at greater risk of developing intestinal obstruction.
Symptoms seen with mild infestation include:

Signs and symptoms of intestinal obstruction include: Crampy abdominal pain that comes and goes (intermittent) Nausea Vomiting or diarrhea Inability to have a bowel movement or pass gas Swelling of the abdomen (distention) Abdominal tenderness Fever When to see a doctor Because of the serious complications that can develop from intestinal obstruction, you should seek immediate medical care if you develop the signs or symptoms listed above
