PLAYA TAMARINDO Playa Tamarindo, on Costa Rica’s west coast on the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste, is one of the country’s most spectacular beaches. The white sand and crystal clear waters attract nature lovers, surfers, giant-turtle watchers and enthusiasts, sun-seekers sports all yearofround. For the outdoor all sorts are available. The school itself is very centrally loc ated in Playa Tamarindo and just minutes walking from the beach, restaurants, bars, and anything else you want to do in this town. SA Tamarindo Tamarindo offers  offers a variety of well thought out Spanish language programs. Students can take 4 or 6 lessons per day of Spanish language classes in a group setting. Futhermore it is possible to take private Spanish lessons if you prefer something more intensive or want to cover specialized topics.  A very popular program offered by this Spanish language school is the Span-  ish & Surf Program.  Program.   This great program allows people to take Spanish classes in the morning and then get Surfing classes in the afternoons. Board rental is also included!

PROGRAM OPTIONS Standard Group classes: 4 lessons per day in class sizes of no more than 6 individuals.  Average class sizesessions ranges from 4-6morning students. During four lesson (in the or in the afternoon), students participate actively in a small group environment. Each student is assured attention to his individual academic needs. If total immersion becomes a difficulty, we offer supplemental instruction in English once a week in order to clarify any doubts. Spanish & Surf classes: The Spanish portion of this program is identical to the Standard Group classes. The difference is that you will also get surf classes as well. During the first 2 weeks of the program you will receive 6 hours of surf instruction. Additionally you will get surf board rental during the entire 2 weeks. If you want to do 3 or 4 weeks, you will get surf board rental and one surf trip each week (week 3 and 4). A great option for those who want to learn Spanish and Surf! Intensive Group classes: The perfect Spanish program for someone who prefers a more intensive course. The format is the same as

the Standard Program. The difference is that under this option you will receive an additional 2 hours per day of instruction in the afternoon. Private Classes (4 lessons Per Day): If you are looking for an intensive program or need specialized instruction, then the private class option is for you. One-on-one instruction is designed especially for people who want to progress at their own pace, work on specific vocabulary, have special needs or who have limited time available.  available. 

ACCOMMODATIONS  Air Conditio Conditioned ned Residen ce. ce.   Located at the Spanish school, the residence is an extremely popular option. Currently the school has 4 large apartments. Students staying at the Spanish school residence will share a room with other students along with common areas: living room, kitchen and bathroom. The residence option is perfect if you prefer not to stay with a host family, don’t mind sharing an apartment with others, and like to be walking distance from everything in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Host Family.  Family.  Living with a Costa Rican host family is a great way to learn more about the culture while also having another place where you can practice your Spanish. The Spanish school has carefully selected a number of families to help make your stay enjoyable. Typical families will host one to two students at a time. Each student will receive his/h er own room and will get two meals per day (breakfast and dinner). Additionally each student will get a key to allow them to come and g o as they please. The homestays can be considered relatively small and basic. However do not let this deter you. Costa Rican are well known for their hospitality!

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES The Guanacaste province is located in the north of Costa Rica about 100 miles from San José. The coast is indented with bays, peninsulas, and warm sandy beaches that are some of the least visited, least accessible, and yet most beautiful in the country. National parks like Santa Rosa, Monteverde Biological Cloud Forest Reserve, Arenal National Park or Rincón de la Vieja are just a few of the locations that students may wish to visit. The school has a list of activities that their students enjoy doing, such as cooking traditional foods, learning popular Latin dances, plus taking nature hikes and more.
