What is sponsorship marketing?
- Sponsorship marketing is typically done for promotional purposes, to generate publicity, or to obtain access to a wider audience than your budget can afford. Although you may think of corporate sponsorship's as in-kind donations, that's not longer the case. It's a booming $11 billion dollar industry according to IEG‘s (Independent Evaluation Group) 2004 industry report.
- Sponsorship marketing is done financially or through the provision of products or services to support an event, activity, person, or organization where two or more parties benefit from the arrangement. The key to building successful sponsorship programs is to match the correct products or services with the people who want to purchase them. - What attracts a sponsor is "eye balls". The more people or targeted impressions you can deliver to a sponsor, the more money or services you will be able to attract. It's that simple. Any organization can start a marketing sponsorship program. Of course the success of it depends on: what your organization does, who your customers are, and how you structure the exposure for the sponsor.

Faculty of Economics and Tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirković” Pula
The academician Mijo Mirković is one of the most known intellectuals. He was an economist, historian, sociologist, writer and journalist but also an unforgettable pedagogue and university lecturer for numerous generations of students.Even today many thoughts written in his works have an encouraging influence with sociological and cultural effects. We still recognize that and pass on to new generations. The two- year economic college was established in Pula in academic year 1960./1961.. That was the first institution of higher- education in Croatia out of Zagreb. The initiative for that foundation dates back to 1956, when the academician Mijo Mirković- Mate Balota suggested the establishment of the Adriatic University. In the year 1985 the two- year economic college organized the first graduate study (4 years) for economists in the field of accountancy and finance and also changed its name into the Study of Economics and Tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirković”. Five years later the Study was renamed into the Faculty of Economics and Tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirković” Pula and had three courses of economic studies: finance, tourism and marketing.

Postgraduate study Macroeconomic management and entrepreneurship and four - year graduate study of Business informatics have started in the academic year 2002./2003. Since the academic year 2005./2006. the Faculty has been engaged in coordinating the studies according to the Bologna process, providing the students with higher-quality courses of studies (curricula) and better studying conditions.
