• Stuttering Stuttering therapy will be offered offered as a two-week residential intensive program with up to one year of follow-up via videoconferencing. *
The intensive program begins July 11, 2011
Includes 60 hours of direct therapy offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Includes two hours of group therapy every morning.
*Due to state licensure laws, follow-up therapy can be offered only to Texas residents.
Cost • The cost for the inaugural CSTP-A CSTP-A is $200

• This fee fee covers all all therapy costs, and the cost of living in university dormitories during the intensive program. **Further scholarships may be available on a need basis – call to inquire.
Treatment Philosophy Phi losophy We believe stuttering stuttering is a multidimensional disorder, best treated by a multifaceted approach that considers individual needs. The CSTP-A is designed to provide structured therapy that addresses various aspects of stuttering in an individualized format. The CSTP-A’s primary objectives are: • Increase understanding and knowledge about stuttering • Learn speech techniques to deal with stuttering effectively in daily life • Practice Practice learned techniques regularly in real-life situations
Comprehensive Stuttering Therapy Program for Adults (CSTP-A) The Department of Communication Disorders and the Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic announce the inaugural Comprehensive Stuttering Therapy Program for Adults (CSTP-A). The CSTP-A is coordinated by Dr. Farzan Irani, whose research focuses on treatment outcomes for adults who stutter. He has published studies on the topic and presented at national conventions. The CSTP-A is supported by the clinical supervisors, graduate students and clinic staff.
CSTP-A Structure
• Increase control over uent speech production and reduce severity of stuttering moments • Recognize and address maladaptiv maladaptive reactions to stuttering, and promote healthy acceptance ofe stuttering • Develop skills to deal with a variety of real life situations independently and become bec ome one’ one’s s own clinician
