CENTER FOR MANAGEMENT STUDIES
SECOND YEAR BBM.
PROJECT GUIDELINES.

General Instructions















The project carries 80 marks for the report and 20 marks for the vivavoce.
The students should note that while preparing the projects they should
avoid overlapping of content and duplication of work.
Project reports should be executive bond paper, A4 size, and one sidedcomputer colour prints out only.\
Report should be in passive voice.
Students should retain original copy of the project with themselves,
and submit two hard bound, colour print out copies to the college.
The original copy should be carried for the viva-voce.
Pages should be serially numbered. (from chapter 1 only)
Font used in the report has to be Times New Romans, or Arial, with font
size of 12-14, with heading of 13-16.
Name of the university , Principal’s name, Guide’s names, register
number, spellings, grammar, and punctuations should be taken care of.
The report should be of minimum 50 pages.(excluding certificates,
annexure, bibliography etc)
Active and regular interaction with the guide and the student is a must,
for completion of the project work.
logo should be used, in the project as
footer and header should be company logo.
submission date is be 31st March 2011.

Format of the Report: ( This format is only an indication, details can be
discussed with the guides)
Preliminary pages: follow the format given in the internship dairy.

Declaration by the student.
Acknowledgements.
List of Contents (with page numbers)
List of tables and Graphs (with page numbers).

Chapter one: INTRODUCTION.
10 pages
Part A: the Industry (example – telecommunication, IT Banking etc)-Brief
history, growth and prospects of industry.
Part B: about the topic-definitions of the terms, importance and other
relevant aspects of the topic.( Operational definitions of Concepts)
CHAPTER Two : COMPANY PROFILE;
20 pages.
Page 1 - company pictures and statistics as follows

Complete information about the company, history , nature, BOD,
organization chart, departmental study like different department and their
activity and process (HR – recruitment, PA, training etc) method, Business
operations, product/service profile, Market share, Competitors, functional
chart, future prospects/ Growth of the company.
Include picture related to product or promotional advertisement .

CHAPTER Three: methodology of studies
5 pages.










Statement of the problem
Objective of the study (mention only one objective – objective is the
project title)
Scope of the study
Methodology
Sampling technique (if applicable)
Tools of data collection.(primary and secondary data)
Plan of analysis.
Reference period.
Limitation of the study.

CHAPTER Four: DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION:
10 PAGES.
For marketing and HR product do survey , prepare questionnaire related to
your topic of project and for finance project collect all the financial data and
prepare tables and charts in the following orders

GRAPHICAL PRESENTATION of the table (pie chart, bar diagram)
INFERENCE OF THE TABLE

CHAPTER Five : SUMMARY OF FINDINGS , suggestion AND CONCLUSIONS:
05 PAGES.
The findings should be summarized and presented in a paragraph form
numbering them.
Conclusion(SWOT analysis of the company) of the project should be given so
as to justify the objectives.Suggestions should be specific, practical and
clear. Issues of implementation should be specified
BIBLIOGRAPHY:

The reference made Text books, Journals, newspaper and Magazines are to
be listed in this section. The source of Internet and Web site may also be
mentioned with correct address of the site.
APPENDICES AND ANNEXURES:
A copy of questionnaire and all other material collected (financial
statements, brochures, etc) from the organization may be annexed.
Note : soft copy after approval from your guide only can be send for
printing.
