SWOT Analysis: First Idea
SWOT Analysis – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and threats. Firstly, our initial idea was to create an opening sequence where Jodie is leaving her line of work in a shopping mall car park instead of a school. We were going to have Jodie walking through the car park and then shocked by a random beggar, this would have been the fake shock of the scene so Jodie carries on walking then she gets blacked out by Chucky. We also wanted to make her wake up in a graveyard instead of a secluded workshop. However we couldn’t do this due to the complications of filming in a graveyard. Strengths – The idea was definitely distinctive compared to many other groups. This idea allowed us to stand out from what everyone else was doing; i.e. filming in school. The idea is also fairly simple to organise as it only involved 3 different actors we would have to find. I believe that if it was pulled of correctly it would surely be a good scene to view. Weaknesses – This idea had many complications. Firstly, we wanted to film in a graveyard where Jodie wakes up tied to a tombstone. However we then concluded that it would be very disrespectful to film on someone’s loved ones tombstone. As well as this, we knew that we had to re-shoot our footage a lot of times for it to be perfect. As a result we chose a closer location for the first scene so that we can easily transport our actors and equipment to the set. Opportunities – Luckily for us we have the opportunity to use some of the best cameras available compared to most schools. This will ensure that the quality of our sequence will be up to a high standard. As well as this we had access to MacBook’s and prestigious editing software’s such as Final Cut Pro. This also meant that we would gain experience and knowledge for future references when it comes to using the newest technologies. Threats – Firstly we didn’t have permission to use either of the locations. This could easily end tragically if we booked equipment and had all the actors ready. As well as this we were filming in peak times of camera use. We had to

use our time adequately as we were most likely able to book equipment for one day of the week. This means that we had absolutely no time for failure during filming.
