IN the past,The Greyhound, in Haverfordwest, may not have been the first place you’d have thought to go for a relaxing meal with the family, but this has all changed now thanks to a fully refurbished bar and restaurant.
Under the new management of Gwilym Davies, formally of the Harbour Inn, Solva, this edge of town hotel has been transformed into a stylish family orientated restaurant and bar. Joining Gwilym is head chef Marc Percival who has a fabulous reputation across Pembrokeshire for his locally produced home cooked meals. Marc will be offering an extensive menu ranging from sizzlers through to a vegetarian selection.There is also a two course Sunday lunch for a competitive £9.95 as well as a bar menu which includes children’s meals, with a drink, for just £3.75.There is also a great selection of deserts and wine to complete your meal. Manager Gwilym says: “The Greyhound, for many years, has had the reputation of being a working man’s pub; this is no longer the case. I want to get the message across that we are now a stylish restaurant that can cater for business lunches, family get togethers or just a quick bar meal.We can offer you a full night out starting with a fabulous meal and then moving downstairs into the relaxing bar. Children are more than welcome and we can provide you with highchairs and a good menu choice.We can even offer a take away service on any of the bar meals.” The Greyhound is situated by the Castle Lake car park entrance in Haverfordwest, at the rear of Bethesda Baptist Church.There is plenty of parking and it’s ideal for a quick lunch, whether you’re shopping or on your lunch hour.
