There can now be few in the developed world who do not have access to Internet-connected computers at home, work, or through facilities such as public libraries and cybercafés. The Changing Business Environment: For the consumer the Internet provides an environment of near perfect competition in which prices from many suppliers can be compared within seconds. The Internet has a wide variety of uses. While the greatest use of the Internet has been sharing information, other sources of use are rapidly developing. E-commerce increases the variety of ways in which business may be transacted. The use of auction has become increasingly common with sites such as eBay permitting anyone to auction anything in a variety of auction styles. Amara London providing customized garment. For instance, chat rooms a space where people can go to discuss on various issues and Internet Commerce which connects buyers and sellers online. The following are other examples of current Internet uses: Technical Papers: Originally, the Internet was only used by the government and universities. But it is now available for everyone. Share Company Information: Commercial companies are now using the Web for many purposes. One of the first ways that commercial companies used the Web was to share information with their employees. Sun Microsystems which similarly contains general information about the Sun Microsystems company. Product Information One of the ways businesses share information is to present their product information on a Web page. Some examples are: Sun Microsystems, Hewlet Packard, and HUL. The Web provides an easy and efficient way for companies to distribute product information to their current and potential customers. Presently you tube and vidilife support these facilities, has files of video clips of news stories which can be downloaded and viewed on a home computer. Once the speed of network connection increases, more people will join them. But Google is developing these technique in better fashion. Video Conferencing Videoconferencing can enable individuals in faraway places to have meetings on short notice. Time and money that used to be spent in travelling can be used to have short meetings. Technology such as VOIP can be used in conjunction with desktop videoconferencing to enable lowcost face-to-face business meetings without leaving the desk, especially for businesses with wide-spread offices. The technology is also used for telecommuting, in which employees work from home. Videoconferencing is now being introduced to online networking websites, in order to help businesses form profitable relationships quickly and efficiently without leaving their place of work. The Internet and its Likely Impact - Conclusions The emergence of the Internet represents a major new phase in human development, one in which potentially all knowledge is available to all citizens. It differs from other mass media both in its global nature and in that it supports participation from all with access, i.e. it is a truly many-to-many medium. The Internet is predicted to be as radical a development as the industrial revolution. Internet access continues to expand rapidly, bringing both challenges and opportunities to both business and society as a whole. Smaller organizations and those with flatter structures are better able to adapt rapidly to the predictable change of the information age. There is now a whole range of opportunities available to the small operation and lone entrepreneur. The non-commercial origins of the Internet have created an expectation among net users of valuable content and free of charge. It is thus impossible on Internet content providers to persuade customers that their material is valuable and charge for them. A challenge comes from the difficulties in enforcing intellectual property rights over digital media.

Today security is also main issue in many of the site. In recent India¶s official Government site was hacked raising and creating it an alarming issue. The Internet is part of the inseparable trend towards globalization. The ease with which information sharing is becoming part of our life, it will further attract many new business and ideas.
