Social Security- What Parents Need to Know What is social security for a child with special needs? When, Where an How do I apply? My child is disabled, why isn’t he/she eligible? Eating for Wellness: Nutrition Priorities for Growing Children This session will focus on nutrition issues for children including obesity prevention and drug related weight gain, component of a healthy diet, diet quality, development of healthy eating habits and behavior change related to nutrition, sources or nutrition information, and label reading. Read with Me Baby: Language and Literacy Birth to Five This session will help attendees understand how to choose age appropriate books to read with a child based upon the varying stages of sensory, motor, social-emotional, and communication development that occur from birth to five. Strategies on how to effectively read with a child rather than to a child are outlined to enhance the parent child reading.
