Posted by Driving Ford on Thursday, May 12, 2011 · 14 Comments Summer is a time for holidays—weekend getaways to cooler climes and long drives to native towns. But while you enjoy your summer break with friends and family, and switching to your air conditioner’s highest settings, have you given a thought to your car? Your car needs summer care just like you. Here are our top tips to keeping your ride cool and safe this summer! Oil The oil in your car – also referred to as its lifeblood—provides much-needed lubrication to the engine parts, while cleaning the engine of chemicals and by-product build-up. Grimy engine oil could prevent proper lubrication, creating friction between moving parts, thereby affecting the vehicle’s performance. Coolant The car needs to cool, just like you do on a hot summer day! The car’s internal cooling system works that much harder during hot days to prevent overheating. Solution: Regularly check coolant level in the reservoir in cold condition (preferably morning before start). Refer to the owner’s manual to check the procedure. If the coolant level is low contact your authorized service station Air filter The air filter in your car keeps out the dust, grime and debris in the air. In summer, heat air density reduces affects the air intake. This air intake further deteriorates with the clogged air filters. Solution: Change the air filter as recommended in the owners’ manual or contact your nearest dealership. Of course a lot depends on the road conditions and weather in your area. Brakes The most important safety feature of a car, the brakes are also quite susceptible to wear and tear. If your brake pedals are too soft or too hard, it’s a sign that your brakes need to be checked. Solution: Get your brakes checked periodically by a qualified technician. A little prevention in time will keep you and your family safe for months to come! Tyres Check tyre pressure during cold condition (minmum drive). Fluctuations in temperature can affect the rubber tyres and the air pressure inside. Also incorrect tyre pressure will have an impact on fuel economy, steering precision and cornering stability.

Solution: Check the tyre pressure regularly and ensure you meet the manufacturer’s tyre pressure guidelines. Ford Figo owners can check the appropriate tyre pressure near the front passenger door. Also ensure the spare tyre is properly inflated. Other Useful tips: Inspect your fan belts for cracks, wear, glazing and proper tension. A worn or loose belt can cause the engine to overheat. For better & prompt Air Conditioner cooling, switch on your air conditioner; switch on the blower to max, lower all the window glass for 30 seconds to remove the heat from inside the car.

AND the worst part is there are various sounds, noises comming from the cabin inside. how could i rectify this problem?. Even the workshop technicians are not able to even identify what the problem is.
