Overview:
Under the direct supervision of a Therapist or Therapy Assistant, the Rehabilitation Technician
will be responsible for participating in direct client care, planning and implementing specific
treatment programs for individual clients according to the principles and practices of physical
therapy/occupational therapy/speech language pathology in the Post Acute Medical / Warm
Springs Hospital System. The Rehabilitation Technician must be flexible to meet the needs of
the system within many different facilities and provide clerical backup as needed to the staff
therapists and office staff. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Treats clients
with ages from newborn to geriatric. This is a nonexempt position.
Qualifications:
Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Onthejob training. Has current
CPR certification and maintains same.
Experience: No experience required. Prior health experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Verbal ability to facilitate communication of treatment program and techniques with
rehabilitation team members and instruct clients in the techniques Numerical ability to perform
clerical duties as needed Good motor coordination to handle clients and equipment safely Good
hand dexterity for routine physical rehabilitation activities Interest in human services Patience
for client contact Resistance to stereotyping clients in client treatment and professional conduct
Ability to function in repetitive and/or changing tasks with ease Ability to work and reason
independently, logically, impartially and accurately Ability to initiate and maintain harmony in
both inter and intraprogram relationships Tact in handling clients.
