Topic: Describe the world you came from and how that world has shaped who you are. Last year was my high school’s 40th anniversary. It’s the greatest celebration in the school year. Each group of class with similar foreign language as the core subject hosted a bazaar to introduce the main country which uses that language: the UK, the US, Russia, Japan, China, France and Germany. As an English Specialized class, we held a booth introducing the UK culture. I was the vice- president of the booth and I was in charge of the part on Scotland and North Ireland. However, the anniversary was held at the same time with the semester examination, which includes thirteen subjects. Thus, my parents and some of my teachers opposed me working for the booth. I also really worried but this bazaar was very interesting to me. Therefore, I decided that I would try both to work for the booth and prepare for my exam. To do that, I had to work harder at class, at home and at the bazaar. At school, I work harder, trying to figure out all the problem during lessons so that I could spend less time working on my homework. Even at break time, instead of playing and chatting with my friends, I reviewed my lesson. After class, I went straight to the library to do my homework and prepare for the next session. Then, I spent all my afternoon working at the bazaar. Our job included making ideas, decorating the booth and presenting about Scotland and North Ireland. After gathering people idea, I came up with a my own idea to have our booth as a bar hanging English materials, where people could come for some drink while listening to presentation. Next, we bought suitable objects to decorate the bar. It was quite hard to convince people to work on the decoration as it consumed a lot of time in the exam period. However, I managed to persuade them; I even tutor some of my friends in biology and physic to guarantee they had good marks. I came into my room right after I got home to avoid my parents’ criticizing that I spent too much time on the bazaar. I didn’t leave my desk until I finish my homework, except for dinner. I also prepared for class more carefully in order to reduce time spending in the library. After all the study, about half pass eleven or midnight, I started networking to find information to present at the bazaar and arrange it. I also contacted people to hire customs for the presentation team, who is dressed as waiters and waitresses, and the materials to hang at the bar. After all the hard work, my result was quite good. I was in top ten of the class in test marks and our booth got the second prize among all booth in the school and the creative prize. That’s my world, always full of pressure, full of work and criticism. Through that world, I was trained to work well under pressure and organize all by myself to reach my goal. I have to get used to criticism for whatever I do but never let those disapproval effects me and never lean on other. The bazaar also shows me that nothing is impossible once I’m determined. Thus, I will always try my best on everything.
