Speaker: Barbara Bonacorsi Date: Apr. 29, 2012 Title: What Kind of Heart Compels People? Romans 1:8-15 (NIV) The Secret of Paul’s Success What kind of heart did Paul have? 1. A _____________ Heart
Roman 1:8 (NIV) 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

2. A _________ Heart.
Romans 1:9-10 (NIV) 9 God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you 10 in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.

3. A __________ Heart
Romans 1:11-13 (NIV) 11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.

4. An ____________ Heart
Romans 1:14 (NIV) 14 I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish.

5. An ________ Heart
Romans 1:15 (NIV) That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.

A _________Heart

Romans 1:16-17 (NIV) I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

Love one another and you will be happy. It's as simple and as difficult as that.

Life Group Questions 1. How did your heart change after committing your life to Jesus Christ? What were some evident heart changes toward others? 2. What kinds of situations cause you to remember others, not in your immediate family, but in the house of faith in prayer? When asked to pray do you REALLY do so faithfully?

3. Which of three laws of love do you find the most challenging? Why? 1) To see people the way God sees people 2) To treat people the way you want to be treated – “Golden Rule” 3) To love people the way God loves you…we must get in touch with how God loves me 4. Who are some of the saints/believers you are indebted to for their faithful service on your behalf? Explain
