What to expect…
1. Project Review
 We will make arrangements to send a Project Manager from our production department to visit you at your
home to execute a “Project Review” with you.
 These appointments are targeted for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between the hours of 9-3. This
step of the process is crucial to the success of your project.
 The visit will take approximately 2 hours. The Project Manager will head directly to the area where the work
will be done, he will spend about a half hour with you present reviewing the project layout and details, the
remainder of the visit will be spent measuring the space accurately and inspecting.
 Your Project Manager will remain available by phone and email throughout the project. Typically the Project
Manager is only on site once for the project review. In the event he/she becomes unavailable due to illness
or out of town obligations – a qualified substitute will be made available.
2. The Drawing
 We create a scaled CAD drawing back at the office (like a blueprint) – we will share this drawing with you for
approval by email.
 Once you have approved it, we can move ahead to the permit application process, (if you have chosen to
pursue a permit).
 Please comment on the drawing, it is the best time to make changes – such as reverse the swing of a door.
3. The Permit
 The permit application process and duration is very different in each municipality, therefore it is difficult for
us to determine how long it will take to achieve.
 Once the building officials have approved the application, we can consider your project to be “Green
Lighted”.
 Once “Green Lighted” we can look at our earliest start date for your project.
 If your project will not require a permit, we will simply request your approval of the CAD drawing before so
that we can give you a start date.
 We recommend that a permit be applied for on most every project. It is completely your decision to make.

4. Scheduling
 One of the most common questions we are asked is “When will you begin our project?” along with…“WHEN
will it be finished?”
 The answers to both of these questions is the same “As Soon As Possible”… as we intend to get your project
started very soon, and plan to have it completed relatively quickly.
 We need to have the permit application approved prior to setting a start date. The reason we wait to have
the permit approved before we give you a start date is due to the unpredictable timeline associated with
obtaining a permit. City hall and red tape take time. If your project will not have a permit, we can review a
start date sooner.
 To be fair to all of our clients including you, we are filling our schedule in order of appearance, and
readiness. Therefore A.S.A.P. is a reality for us – as we promise to get your project started & finished “as
soon as possible”.
 The average timeline is 6-10 weeks from signing of the contract to the start of your project.
 Typical projects take approximately 2 weeks of construction from start to finish once we are working on site
– some less, some more, it all depends upon how big the finished space is, along with which design features
and options have been selected. We thank you in advance for your patience.
5. Clean Out , Preparations & Dust
 Please prepare the space by removing 100% of your possessions away from the areas where the team will
be working. The team needs a 4’ clearance away from any areas where work will be done. Let your Project
Manager know when the space will be clear.
 Our construction team will make efforts to control dust, if you have possessions which will remain in the
work zone which are dust sensitive – we recommend that you cover them with sheets or plastic prior to our
arrival. You can discuss greater concerns with the team when they arrive – and they can assist. Your help
here is appreciated.
 The team will leave the site surprisingly clean in the end. Though you may wish to give it a once over after all
the team has left and all dust has settled.
 We thank you in advance for your understanding & cooperation.
6. Start Day 1
 It is advisable, but not mandatory that you be present on day 1 to meet the team (Carpenter, electrician,
etc).
 A jobsite foreman will be assigned to your project. During the construction phase, you can consult directly
with him regarding the project.
 Your Project Manager remains available, by phone or email.
7. Construction Phase
 The installation team will establish arrival and departure times with you, as well as key elements such as
how they will be gain access and lock up procedures.
 There will be noise and a bit of a mess. Please give the team a chance to do what is needed.

Please be extra careful while you are checking on progress in the space – it is a construction site and has
inherited dangers. Wear shoes and eye protection, in general please be safe. Keep children and others away
and safe.

8. Inspections
 Assuming that your project has a permit involved, inspections will take place periodically during the
construction.
 The foreman will be making most of those inspection arrangements with the town official. Electrician &
plumbers will make their own arrangements for their related inspections.
 Most times the inspections go quite smoothly – however we are at the mercy of the inspectors schedule,
this could result in delays to your project if your town officials are overburdened with appointments.
 If your project does not require a permit – there will be no inspections at all. Never the less, our team will
work to standards which will meet or exceed code standards.

NOTE: The building officials have the authority to inspect your entire home to be sure that it is up to current code standards
regarding smoke detection and carbon monoxide detectors. If your home is not compliant now, it will need to be before they give
the final passing grade for the project. Battery operated units can be installed and our electrician can review this with you when
he is on site.

9. Painting
 Painting is NOT included unless the contract clearly states otherwise.
 The doors we install are pre primed making them even easier to be painted by you or a painter. We have
found that many of our clients prefer this cost savings and will elect to paint the doors themselves.
 We can make arrangements with a painter, and can discuss the associated cost if you would prefer.
 The majority of our products do not need paint. This is by design.
10. Additional fees & Credits
 Items are occasionally added or deleted from the project before, during or after, by your request or by
design necessity, either way it will be discussed and agreed to before it becomes an additional fee.
 Change orders and related costs or credits can be documented via email, we ask for you to please reply
accordingly for the record. This is an “e – greement” or email/agreement.
 A separate invoice will be created and shared with you at the end of the project, this will reflect any changes
made from the original contract with regard to cost (+or-) and will be settled within your final payment.
11. Financing
 If you are financing with Morehouse or another lender, you will want to discuss any cost changes directly
with them.
 You might choose to pay for any additional costs by check or Credit Card to make it easier. This will remain
your decision.
12. Finalization
 The “Finalization Process” document explains how your project will close out and how we may need your
assistance with some final details.

The “Certificate of Completion” document provides an opportunity for you to review the project results with
your foreman while he is still on site. This is the best time to make a punch list together if needed.
Essentially it says to us that you agree that the project is indeed completed to your satisfaction.
Once the “Certificate of Completion” is received along with final payment, we will send out your warranty
information package.
Thank you

We would like to thank you for choosing us for your project, and for reading through this information.
We hope to make this process easy and fun for you.
If you have any questions at all, we are here for you, now, during construction, and up to 50 years after.
