VEHICLE TRACKING SYSTEM Vehicle tracking system is a miniature model of Global Positioning System(GPS). GPS is to find out the position or location of the vehicle around the world. To implement a GPS we need link with satellite. Due to this problem we planned to implement a miniature model of GPS To implement miniature model we are going to implement a single chip microcontroller in the vehicle. That vehicle may be a two wheeler or four wheeler with a battery connection. Two sensors will be fixed in the vehicle to monitor speed and division of the vehicle. With the help of the speed we can calculate the distance with respect to time. The direction and the distance are fed into the microcontroller and that will be transmitted to pc through digital modulation techniques. At the receiver end the signal will be detected and demodulated with digital demodulation technique. Then the signal will be given to PC. The microcontroller which we are going to use is AT89C51 or PIC16F877. It is manufactured by ATMEL INC., and MICROCHIP INC., USA. This microcontroller is an advanced version of microcontrollers. The advantage of using this microcontroller is it has inbuilt UART (Universal Asynchronous receiver & transmitter). The advantage of using digital transmission is Data communication can be defined as the exchange of data in the form of 0’s and 1’s between two devices using a transmission medium. Data communication takes place when the communicating devices are part of a communication system that is made up of a combination of hardware and software. Data communication via various electronic devices helps us to transmit data at high speeds over large areas. Information may be passed on to various destinations, thus reducing the need to type in the same data over and over.
