Forest Park and Community of Hope Ministries would not survive without their volunteers. During the year, both ministries use volunteers in some form almost daily at the centers, and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Summer mission interns serve the ongoing ministries in many ways. They specifically work with children and teach them about Jesus through word and actions. This summer we are excited to have two very talented young adults serve as our mission interns. Clint Knight, member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church, is a student at U.A.B. studying Elementary Education. After several mission opportunities both in Montgomery and Birmingham, Clint feels God is calling him to work with children. This summer he and his partner will lead several Backyard Bible Clubs and sports camps around Montgomery. We are excited to see what the Lord will do in and through him. Angelique O’ eal is a student at Alabama State University studying Elementary Education and attends Gateway Baptist Church. She has experience working with urban children in both Chicago and Mobile. Angelique will lead a girls club through Community of Hope and work with Donna and other volunteers in the Mentors and Moms group at Forest Park. She is a huge asset to the young women who come to Forest Park for assistance and support. She has already had the chance to share her story with some young women.
Eastern Hills Youth Choir Homecoming Concert Sunday, June 30 | 6:30 PM
The Eastern Hills Youth Choir will present their Homecoming Concert after a week of ministry in Florida.
Community of Hope Fundraiser
Community of Hope is collecting phone books to recycle as a fundraising project. Books can be dropped off at First Baptist Church, 305 South Perry Street, or at Community of Hope, 2403 East South Blvd. Call Lou Ann Raughton (235-2634) or Jan Rowe (3999993) to arrange for pick up.
CONGRATULATIONS
A huge congratulations to Donna McCullough who completed her Masters Degree in Counseling from Troy State University, Montgomery on May 20th. This will only enhance the already wonderful job she is doing as director of Forest Park Ministry Center. Pray for Donna and these two very bright and committed young adults as they fulfill their calling to serve the Lord in Montgomery.
