thought about the physical appearance of so"eone% notice that you are
doing so% and redirect your thought to consider the fullness of God within
that person.

0calling.0 <se your talents and special interests to fulfill your ser!ice with
your calling. Your life work will take on a dra"atic shift toward abundance%
and you will feel that you are 0on purpose.0
22. 7ake an atte"pt to ta"e your ego. By catching yourself when you
persistently use the pronoun 0#0% you can "ake the decision to take the
focus off of yourself. The "ore you cut back on 0#0% the "ore personal
freedo" you will e)perience.
2$. 2e"e"ber that you are not your country% your race% or your religion. You
are an eternal spirit. /eeing yourself as a spiritual being without labels is a
way to transfor" the world and reach a sacred place for all of hu"anity.
2&. When you feel an inclination to bla"e so"eone else for your circu"stances%
take an instant to say a prayer of thanks for the lesson. The lesson is to
beco"e aware that you are the one e)periencing the feeling.
2(. #f you are engaging in addicti!e beha!ior of any kind% the "ost effecti!e
way to rid yourself of the addiction is to go directly to your higher self and
turn the proble" o!er to God. That=s right. >ust turn it o!er. /urrender%
knowing that the highest force in the uni!erse is within you.
2+. /pend a day silently reciting the word lo!e whene!er you encounter another
hu"an being. This practice has such a positi!e effect that you "ay choose
to use it as a silent background "antra throughout your day.
2,. :ractice releasing the e"otions of fear and guilt and replacing the" with
lo!e% forgi!eness% and kindness. #f you are feeling guilty about your past
conduct% re"ind yourself that you are in!iting tur"oil into your life.

conduct in the future.

rather than a 3udg"ental thought.
$4. /urrender. 'ccept the fact that your body will die and that you are
eternal. /urrender to this fact when so"eone dies% and stop telling
yourself that his or her death 0shouldn=t ha!e happened0 the way that it
did. You can surrender and you can grie!e.
$1. 7ake a daily effort to look upon others without conde"nation. 8!ery
3udg"ent takes you away fro" your goal of peace. eep in "ind that you do
not define anyone with your 3udg"ent? you only define yourself as so"eone
who needs to 3udge.
$2. Gi!e yourself the gift of a silent retreat e!ery day% e!en if it is only for a

down the inner dialogue ** and know that this is your ticket to peace.

wrongdoing. We are all good% decent% lo!ing souls% but we occasionally get

"ake your inner world work for you or against you% use it to create the

there is "uch "ore to you than what # see staring back at "e.0 You will
find yourself going beyond the physical you and re"o!ing "any of your
intrusi!e thoughts about defending yourself and atte"pting to pro!e your
worth.
$1. #n the "idst of a tu"ultuous "eeting or a frantic encounter with your
children% get up and e)cuse yourself for a "o"ent. Gi!e yourself fi!e
"inutes to get centered% and ask God this question- 0What is "y purpose
here% and how "ay # ser!e you in the "idst of this confusionC0
&4. Beco"e aware that there are no accidents in our intelligent uni!erse.
2ealiDe that e!erything that shows up in your life has so"ething to teach
you. 'ppreciate e!eryone and e!erything in your life.
&1. '!oid e)aggerating or changing facts for the purpose of i"pressing others.
This quality "ay be cute in a child% but in an adult% it is a way of relying on
the ego to keep illusions ali!e. :ersisting in this practice will 3ust keep you
fro" knowing your higher self% which needs no e)aggeration to feel
i"portant in the eyes of others.
&2. 2e"e"ber that your past "ust ha!e taught you the wrong "essages if
these "essages do not bring you peace and happiness. Do not be afraid to
let go of those beliefs if they do not.
&$. eep a 3ournal. #n it% describe what offends you about other people. #f you
can be ob3ecti!e% you will find that what offends you is really a 3udg"ent
about how others should be beha!ing. These 3udg"ents are that false idea
of yourself% con!incing you that the world ought to be as you are% rather
than as it is.
&&. #f there is so"eone in your life who" you lo!e% tell hi" or her how you feel%
e!en if you are afraid to do so. By taking action against your fear of
inti"acy% you in!ite your higher self% your lo!ing presence% to replace your
ego=s nonlo!ing fear tactics.
&(. You cannot ha!e a better past% so abandon that idea right now. You did
what you knew how to do% gi!en the circu"stances of your life. #nstead of
indulging in regrets% let your thoughts re"ain on lo!e% and let your actions
ste" fro" that lo!e.
&+. >ust be. 5et go of all the beliefs that con!ince you of your inadequacies
and shortco"ings. 9lean out that closet of worn*out loyalties to what you
can and cannot do. >ust open yourself up right in this "o"ent. >ust be.

During these con!ersations% instead of asking for special fa!ors% affir"
your willingness to use all of your inner strength to create solutions.

:ay the toll of the car behind you. ' feeling of peace and contentedness
will be your reward.

lo!ing appreciation for God=s work and the presence of the Di!ine
intelligence.

budding tree% a "other and her nursing infant% an elderly couple holding
hands. 'llow lo!e to circulate fro" you to the"% and feel it being returned.

energiDed you will beco"e.
(1. Gi!e "ore of yourself% and ask less in return. When ser!ing others beco"es
a priority% you will start asking the uni!erse% on a daily basis% 0@ow "ay #

(2. now that you are an eternal and purposeful being. Be secure and serene%
with no need for co"pli"ents or reassurances that you are in any way "ore
special or distinct fro" others. We are all children of God. Ao fa!orites.

($. now that you don=t really ha!e to do 0your best.0 Your best lea!es no roo"
for i"pro!e"ent. You are better off to si"ply do and en3oy and be willing
to learn.
(&. Be cogniDant of the fact that e!eryone who co"es into your life in any
capacity is !aluable. The petty tyrants are 3ust as di!ine as those who
pro!ide you with encourage"ent and support. Those who" we 3udge to be
unfortunate or e!il can teach us our greatest lessons.
((. Try not to co"pare yourself to others as a "easure"ent of your
perfor"ance or feelings of success. #f you do% you will ha!e bought into the
erroneous idea that God plays fa!orites and that you will in so"e way be
better when you are ahead of so"eone else.
(+. :ractice generosity. :eople who gi!e willingly of their possessions and their
"oney are not doing it because they 0ha!e it to gi!e.0 They are co"ing
fro" a special heart space that is attracted to ser!ing and sharing. We can
all gi!e so"ething in the ser!ice of others and in ser!ice of our higher
sel!es.
(,. 6ree yourself fro" addictions ** that is% addiction to substances such as
alcohol% drugs% sugar% and caffeine? or "ore abstract concepts such as
appro!al% danger% and se)ual conquest. 'll of this is 3ust your ego at work.
When you know that you ha!e the presence of God within you% you will no
longer be addicted to e)ternals.
(.. 'llow your higher self to guide you when you ha!e proble"s. 9reate a
sentence that you repeat silently% such as- 0:lease decide for "e. # lea!e it
in your hands.0 This "ay see" like a cop*out% but # ha!e found this
technique helpful in "any proble" areas of "y life.
(1. Be aware that nothing will bring about an inner feeling of tur"oil faster
than allowing yourself to be seduced into fighting or arguing. You always
ha!e a choice ** to argue or not to argue% to confront or not to confront.
9hoose the peaceful approach.
+4. De"onstrate tolerance and lo!e by ignoring what "ay ha!e transpired in the
past. '!oid the inclination to "ake so"eone wrong by pointing out the
fallacies of their point of !iew with e)a"ples fro" their past. 5et go of
the desire to win% and culti!ate the desire to co""unicate.
+1. 2ather than continually "aking an issue of things with your i""ediate
fa"ily and friends% try letting go of your ego in!est"ent in fa!or of a "ore
peaceful point of !iew. You only need a few seconds to pause and know how
"uch better peace feels.

the" enter and e)it your "ind. >ust obser!ing the flow of thoughts will
slow the "ind down to the still point where you can e)perience God.
+$. De!elop the sense that anything that is destructi!e to one hu"an is
destructi!e to all. now that the essence of life force that flows through
you flows through e!eryone. That awareness will gi!e you a lo!ing energy
that will help to bring all of us together.
+&. Get a clear picture in your "ind of so"ething that you would like to see
happen in your life- a 3ob opportunity% a new lo!e% quitting an addicti!e
beha!ior% or whate!er. eep your inner focus on this picture and e)tend
lo!e outwardly with this picture in "ind. The results will be worth your
effort.
+(. Be aware of your thoughts% and re"ind yourself that the si"ple act of
thinking is e!idence that there is an in!isible energy that flows through you
at all ti"es.
++. De!elop your inner faith. The kind of faith # a" describing does not need a
religious ser!ice or a holy book. #t co"es fro" ha!ing the direct% inner
e)perience of God as a part of your higher self.
+,. Try on the concept that beliefs restrict you% while knowing e"powers you.
' belief is "erely a "ental note attached to your lapel by your "o""y. '
knowing is etched into the cells of your being% and therefore li!es within
you with an absence of doubt.
+.. 5et go of any repetitious inner dialogue about the horrors and tragedies of
the world. now that e!erything that happens is perfect% e!en the parts
that you dislike. 'll of your opinions about how things should take place are
nothing "ore than notions you ha!e of how God should be orchestrating this
play.
+1. now that lo!e is the least threatening e)perience there is. 5o!e asks
nothing and de"ands nothing. #t calls for gi!ing% sharing% and !ulnerability%
with God as your inner guide co""unicating infinite lo!e.
,4. 9onsider the possibility of totally eradicating your personal history fro"
your consciousness% and si"ply li!ing co"pletely in the present "o"ent. You
will find a new freedo" as you realiDe that you aren=t relying on the way
things used to be to define your life today.
,1. 9urb your need to be right. #f you truly want to work on this area of
restraining your ego% then si"ply respond to what so"eone has 3ust said
without offering an argu"ent or a piece of ad!ice. 's you practice this
technique% your ego will fade% and your relationships will i"pro!e.
,2. 2elease e!erything that you ha!e been told is i"possible or unrealistic% and
allow yourself the freedo" to "ake your own contract with God about what
is possible for you. 8)a"ine all of the doubts you ha!e about "iracles and
"iracle workers% and replace the doubt with openness.
,$. /low yourself down with "o"ents of conte"plati!e silence. That is% do
nothing. #n these "o"ents% appreciate your body and all of your physical
uni!erse. Aotice the inner wa!es of pleasure that you e)perience.

2e"e"ber that your soul cannot be "easured or obser!ed with the tools
that you use to !iew the "aterial world.

no failed relationships. 8!ery person who enters and e)its your life does so
in a "utual sharing of life=s di!ine lessons.
,+. 7ake lo!e the focus of your life. When this is the case% you will ha!e no
e)pectations about how others should respond to your acts of lo!e. Your
higher self in!ites you to ser!e and gi!e without any anticipation of reward.

"any ite"s that you pre!iously chased after% including "oney% will begin to

creation of God. When you know that you are on a spiritual "ission% you
beco"e independent of the good opinion of others. Get on with your
purpose.
.4. Trust your intuition. Euietly affir" that you will define your own reality
fro" now on% and that your definition will be based on your inner wisdo".
.1. /top paying so "uch attention to the superficial pursuits of your life.
5earn to tune within and know higher le!els of awareness. You need to
beco"e acquainted with this part of yourself and belie!e in the energy of
the lo!ing presence that is a part of you.
.2. 2elease the false idea that you need to pro!e to anyone that you ha!e
acquired the necessary credentials to be considered a success. /uccess is
not "easured by e)ternals- it co"es fro" within.
.$. 2e"ind yourself that e!ery negati!e thought you ha!e about another is
so"ething you are thinking about yourself. 2eplace these negati!e thoughts
with positi!e ones% and your self*estee" and self*worth will grow
accordingly.
.&. Do you doubt your ability to know GodC #f so% then know that if you are
ali!e you ha!e the life force of God within you. #t is as si"ple as that **
your ali!eness confir"s the e)istence of the highest awareness within
yourself.
.(. Drop the notion that you are what you do. 2e"e"ber this- #f you are what
you do% then when you don=t% you aren=t.
.+. When you find yourself troubled by anything% say out loud- 0# a" "ore than
what bothers "e.0 >ust this si"ple state"ent affir"ing yourself as
so"ething "ore than a receptacle for troubles will keep you fro" allowing
these troubles to run ra"pant in your daily life.
.,. 2e"e"ber that you are here on 8arth for one purpose- To lo!e and be
lo!ed. When you concentrate on this thought% e!erything in life see"s to
flow "ore easily.
... :ractice listening to others% while keeping the focus off of yourself. During
con!ersations% concentrate on what the other person is saying and what
they are feeling. Then% respond with a sentence that begins with =you=
instead of =#=.
.1. 2e"ind yourself e!ery day that the highest worship of God is ser!ice to
"ankind% and that it is through those acts that your spiritual quest will be
realiDed. You do not need to con!ince others that you are di!ine. Do it in
deed. Your inner awakening of 3oy and bliss will be enough reward.
14. 2elease your ego. 8)a"ine e!erything that offends you and see if you can
get your ego out of the picture. When you are offended% you are actually
thinking% 0This is awful. @ow could God allow itC0 2elease your ego% then
act upon that which you are for. There will be no need to fight.
11. 2esist the need to boast about yourself. /tri!e to be interested% rather
than interesting. Beco"e the listener% the one who cares about the
acco"plish"ents and acti!ities of others% and you will not need to distort
your personal storyline.
12. '!oid dictating to those who are s"aller% younger% or less educated. We
are all at different stages on the spiritual path% but none of us is 0better=
than anyone else. We=re 3ust different.
1$. 2e"ind yourself that God created you in perfect lo!e that is changeless and
eternal. Your body is changing% as is your "ind% so you are not that body or
that "ind. You were created as a spirit that is pure lo!e. That is where
you want to keep your attention focused.
1&. #nstead of cursing the past% bless it and forgi!e yourself entirely. When
you know that all of those e)periences were a part of the Di!ine design of
your life% you can afford to forgi!e.
1(. 2e"e"ber that whate!er you want to know or acco"plish in your life is
possible if you are truly ready to trust in your di!ine powers to "anifest it.
You will find that the appropriate teachers will appear for you% and that you
will be guided in the right direction.
1+. Try not to 3udge God. now that hurricanes% tornadoes% cri"e% and po!erty
are as "uch a part of the Di!ine plan as are sunny days% cal" seas% and
co"passion and prosperity. Your desire to i"pro!e conditions is also a part
of the plan. /o% concentrate on T@'T rather than on why certain
conditions see" 0wrong.0
1,. 5o!e is the best antidote to fear and doubt. Therefore% when you
e)perience a "o"ent of fear and doubt% gi!e yourself a portion of "ental
lo!e% and re"ind yourself that you are a holy creation.
1.. now that ob3ects cannot gi!e you freedo". They only de"and "ore
co"panions and further ensla!e you. The idea of purchasing freedo" in any
way is a false idea% and this false idea tells you to e)pect freedo" when you
achie!e a certain le!el of financial accu"ulation.
11. 6ree yourself of pre3udice. :re3udiced thinking co"es fro" treating your
"ind like a rental space for the thoughts and beliefs of others. The
antidote for to)ic% pre3udging thoughts is to suspend your ego and listen to
your higher self. You will begin knowing that no one on this planet is
superior or special in the eyes of God% 3ust as no one is non*special.
144. Think globally rather than locally. :eople who look different% who speak a
different language% who ha!e different beliefs% are a part of </. We are
all in A;W*@828 together. #n the eyes of the lo!ing presence% there are
