Chalcedon Christian School
Trainin_g.covenant children to view every issue
of life ffom the perspective of God's Word
Chalcedon Clrristian School, now in
the nuddle of its fifth year, is pro-
gressiilg in its PurPOSe of edu-
cating children in a distinctly Christian
manner. This 1986-87 year began with
a 37% increase in the student body over
the previous year and with two new full-
time Students from kinder-
garten through tenth grade come, in
vans, car-pools and automobiles,
from miles in every direction to the
number of games were provided. Down-
stairs every room was filled with crafts
by local artisans for sale. Proceeds were
to be used for school needs.
On November 19 the school spon-
sored a Thanksgiving feast at noon.
Some 150 people, including students,
teachers and a number of parents who
could make it, enjoyed a sumptuous
meal of turkey and dressing and all that
goes with a typical Thanksgiving din-
things were created by God and all truth
is God's truth. Students at Chalcedon
will be equipped to apply the Bible to
every area of life.
The following statements of p'urpose
and philosophy of education reveal the
true character of the school:
Chalcedon Christian School will
provide quality education and academic ·
excellence in every field of study, not
only because our teachers meet the high-
est standards, but because every subject ·
is taught from a distinctively Christ;.. .
centered and Bible-based perspective. It .
is the purpose of our school to tr.a.in our
students to devel(Jp and implerru:nt a ,

Under the leadership of administrator,
Bob Lester, Chalcedon Christian School .
has provided most of the ingredients
found in other good schools, but the
most important thing that makes this
school different and gives it the quality
characleristic that is most obvious, is
the day-to-day education received by the
students from a biblical perspective.
Chalcedon is not a school which is like
every other school with a few Christian
items thrown in, such as a prayer, now
and then, and "chapel" every day. This
school teaches every subject from the
perspective of God's Word, since all

except under the direction of God's writ-
ten revelation. "For of Him, through
Him, and to Him are all things, to
Whom is the glory forever" (Romans
11 :36). This knowledge, once obtained
by the student, will build Christian
character and provide practical wisdom
for the daily activities of life, thereby
enabling the student to glorify and en-
joy God, and to confront with confi-
dence and clarity those problems and
challenges they will surely face.
This view of education rests upon the
historic Christian faith revealed in the
Holy Believing this faith to
be accurately and carefully stated in the
Westminster Confession of Faith and
Catechisms, Chalcedon Christian
School offers through its instruction a
demanding academic curriculum fully
integrated with Biblical Christianity,
coupled with a strong emphasis on the
developme/lt of sound spiritual and
moral values and priorities.
Our goals are also drawn from the
Bible and are of far-reaching impor-
tance. Our primary goal is to glorify
God. To reach that goal, we educate our
children so that a Christian mind is
developed in them. From that basis,
through our education, a Christian
culture and heritage are transmitted to
our students from former godly genera-
tions. As our students learn how to
build a Christian culture in home,
school. church, state, and society. they
will guarantee for themselves and their
children the prosperity, strength, and
peace that God brings to His faithful
people (Deuteronomy 28). ·
The Lord has richly blessed Chalce-
don ·Christian School through its
few years, and we look forward, under
God's guidance, to many productive
years in the future. 0

Inside Chalccdon Christian School the flea market was just one of the many
aspects of the Reformation Day Fair in November.
