3rd Annual Chicago Scholars Onsite Admissions Forum
The Chicago Scholars Onsite Forum is part of a comprehensive ve-year mentoring and support program aimed at bringing post secondary educational opportunities to talented, rst generation, low-income and under-resourced scholars from every public, private and parochial high school in Chicago. Unlike traditional college fairs, Chicago Scholars works with high school counselors, students and community partners in advance of the event to provide individualized college counseling that addresses: “Good - t” options Application and essay completion Financial aid strategies and access to scholarships Mentoring support to scholars and their families Prior to attending the event, college admissions o cers review applications from each of the scholars they will meet that day. Applications are screened for quality and completeness by Chicago Scholars to help match talented candidates with “good- t” colleges.

“From an admissions standpoint it was really energizing… …. I continue to be so impressed with these students. They are focused, they have their sights set on higher education, they have great questions and they want to do this (college admissions) process right… Chicago Scholars is a phenomenal organization that has great support for students, and we’re thrilled to be part of it.” — Associate Dean of Admissions, Marquette University “It’s amazing how much progress you’ve made since I rst spoke with you last year. I told my colleagues, just wait and see how this develops in 5 years!” — College Admissions O cer, Amherst College
