Once again, the Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging has established a
Scholarship to be awarded to a student interested in pursuing a career in Gerontology or
Geriatrics. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in the fall of 2013.
To apply for the Scholarship, a student must be a junior, senior or graduate student presently
enrolled in an accredited university within the eight southeastern states of Alabama, Georgia,
Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina or Tennessee.
Enclosed please find a copy of the application for the SE4A Scholarship and a list of the criteria.
If you know of a student who would qualify and would like to apply for the Scholarship, please
have him/her complete the application.
An application package must be completed including an essay of no more than two pages in
length. The essay should include both personal and professional experience and answer the
following questions:
What led you to pursue an education in the field of Gerontology or Geriatrics?
What are your plans in the field of Gerontology or Geriatrics?
An original current transcript or a copy of an original current transcript must be included.
Nominations must be postmarked by May 8, 2013 and mailed to:
