ABSTRACT
Summarize the main details and technical contributions of the paper. The length of the
abstract should not exceed 300 words. Remember to do grammar and spell checks before
submission. Use English (U.S.) throughout the manuscript.
Keywords: (according to your research topic)
1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
The full manuscript submitted for Paper Presentation (Vortex 2014) should follow the
layout and guidelines given in this document. The template is designed to ensure uniformity
of different papers.
The paper should be written in (US) English. The length of the papers should not exceed
twelve (12) pages. The paper can be divided into appropriate sections (starting with
Introduction) and subsections. The use of subsubsections (such as Section 2.2.3), however, is
discouraged.
Throughout the paper, use Times New Roman font with single spacing between lines. The
recommended font size is 14 pts for the paper title and 12 pts elsewhere. Leave only one
blank space (and not two blank spaces) after the full-stop. All text should be justified on both
sides. The use of footnotes is discouraged. The size of the submitted file should be less than 5
MB.
2. FRONTMATTER
The heading for every section should be put in CAPITAL letters in bold font and should be
left-aligned. The headings for sub-sections should be specified in italics.

2.1 Title
Please provide a descriptive title of the paper. The title should be set using capital letters and
should not span more than 2 lines.
2.2 Authors and Affiliations
Include the first name, middle initial and surnames of all the authors. The name of the
presenting author should be underlined. The affiliations of all the authors should be included.
The e-mail of the corresponding author should be shown.
2.3 Keywords
Provide up to 6 keywords, each starting with a capital letter and separated by semi-colons.
3. FIGURES AND TABLES
3.1 Figures
The figures should be numbered and captioned in bold font; both the figure and its caption
should be centred in the page. In the text, the figure can be referred to as Fig. 1. It is
recommended that the figures have at least 300 dpi. The authors should, however, make sure
that the figure and text in it are legible, when printed in black and white, e.g. during the
selection of line type for different curves in a plot.

3.2 Tables
The tables should be numbered and captioned in bold font. Both the table and its caption
should be centred in the page. In the text, the table can be referred to as Table 1.

4. EQUATIONS
The equations should be indented with the numbers displayed on the right side in parenthesis.

E = mc

(1)

In the text, equations can be referred to as Eq. 1.
5. THEOREMS AND PROOFS
The authors can use different environments like Theorem, Lemma, Corollary and Proposition
to highlight the mathematical details and contributions of the paper. As a guidline, the wellestablished results taken from literature should be put as Theorems and results proven in the
paper as Propositions. Lemmas should be lead to a Theorem or Proposition, while Corollaries
should follow a Theorem or Proposition. All these environments should be numbered
separately, e.g. Theorem 1 and Proposition 1. Proofs should not be numbered. An example is
as follows:
2

Theorem 1. The area of a square with side d is d .
Proof: The area of a square with side d follows from geometry.
6. CITATIONS
In the text, refer to literature citations in the author-year format, e.g. [Author, 2006] or
[Author1 and Author2, 2007] or [Author 1 et al., 2008]. The references should be placed at
the end of the paper in the alphabetical order.
7. CONCLUSIONS
This section should summarize the main findings of the work and their importance of the
work, as well as suggest applications and extensions. Do not replicate the abstract as the
conclusion.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Any acknowledgements can be included at the end of the main body of the paper (before the
references). This section should not be numbered. We thank you for your cooperation in
following the layout and guidelines given in this document.

Appendix
If necessary, an appendix can be placed at the end of the paper. This section can be used to
improve the readability of the paper by relegating peripheral details to the end of the paper.
