The Advanced Project Management Programme (APM) of the Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) provides organisations with skilled, professional, results-orientated managers who can meet the requirements of other functional managers within their organisations and who are able to complete projects on time, within budget, while meeting expectations. Six modules will equip participants with a practical, step-by-step approach to managing a project over its entire life cycle - from inception to close out. The twelve-month APM programme is designed for current and prospective middle managers as well as investors and developers in all industries. The programme is especially popular among people working in the following fields: electronic and defence industries; quantity and other surveyors; power generation; information technology; petrochemical industry; engineers; systems managers; contractors/constructors; mining managers; architects, landscape architects and town planners; building and construction industries; social upliftment managers; and transformation and recons reconstruction truction managers.  As part of streng strengthening thening the APM programm programme, e, you you will spend the last two days of the second study school working on a 21 week project. The Managing by Project Workshop is an intense computer-based “workplace simulation” in which 21-weeks of project experience will be telescoped into two days. Participants will use the managing by project “flight simulator” to plan, schedule and control a software and hardware product development project. After a team building exercise, each team will first develop a detailed human resources plan and budget before implementing the project.  At the successful completion of their study, par ticipants will receive the Advanced Project Management Programme (APM) certificate from the University of South Africa’s Graduate School of Business Leadership.
