Alexandria

My name is Alexandria Morton. I was born 28 years ago in Beckley, West Virginia. I am a mother of 3 beautiful boys. I have been married for almost 10 years to the love of my life. I also work part time as an in home caregiver. I spent three years of my life in the US Navy. I met my husband before I went to boot camp. We were married on my 2 week leave between duty stations on February 8, 2002. I had to report to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower on February 14, 2002. So our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple was spent driving from Beckley WV to Norfolk VA. We drove all the way to Norfolk just to find out that my ship was in dry dock at the shipyard in Newport News. That was a very interesting day. My husband had driven me all the way to Virginia and turned around and went right back to West Virginia in the same day. After that we didn’t live together for a couple months until he moved to Virginia and we found a place together. Since then we have had 3 little boys whom I occasionally refer to as my little monkeys. The oldest is 6 and in 1st grade. My four year old just started preschool this year. He only attends half a day but I really think he would like it if he went all day. He is so hyper it is insane sometimes. My youngest is 6 months old and he is a doll baby, a big fat doll baby. I have never met another baby his age that is even close to his size. He is 28 inches long and weighs 24 pounds. My children are the reason I decided to go back to school. I want to set the example that anything is possible. My kids think I am too old to go to school. But they are still young and just do not understand as of yet. I originally started out pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree for Web Design. After much research on the job opportunities in my area and some serious soul searching I have decided that a Bachelors in Graphic Design is my true calling. I have always dreamed of being that girl that designs something like Vogue. I used to have a magazine editor on my computer that I would dream up story lines and design different magazine covers. It was more like a game than anything real though. My favorite color is green because it is such a bright and cheery color. Even forest green is cheery to me. The color green just reminds me of the freshness of

nature. I think it is probably the most prevalent color in nature actually. I have several hobbies including playing computer games. I have recently developed a fascination with Call of Duty Black Ops on my husband’s PS3. I actually considered going into Game Art and Design but I don’t think I have that kind of creativity. My goals in life are to raise well rounded children, love with all my heart and attain a successful career in Graphic Design. I hope to someday work as a magazine editor. Well this is my story in the short version. I could probably write a book about all the craziness that my sisters and I have endured. I have thought of that but I don’t know if anyone would read it. Happy adventures and thank you for reading my story.
