ANALYTICAL

For the purpose of the analytical section my reflective
item will be used, which a poem is entitled “warmth.” The
poem was about global warming and its causes and effects, it
also showed how it affected Trinidad and Tobago. The poem
also included what are the causes of global warming in
Trinidad and how to reduce it. And it also shows how to
reduce your carbon footprint.
My poem will be examined in the two following areas:
communicative behavior and attitudes to language.
Communicative behavior is where I used symbols in my poem.
These symbols for example “the heat”, giving the reader an
insight on how the sunlight feels. Also “the sea level”, the
word sea level emphasizes on the amount of water in the sea
which increased by global warming. And other communicative
behavior is “garbage on the ground.” which shows an image
of when people don’t dispose of their garbage responsibly,
giving an image of garbage on the ground. Also “place of
corpses”, this emphasizes on an image of when plant life dies
due to the cause of drought. Two last communicative

behaviors it will talk about in my poem is “ice melting really
fast, giving an image how in Antarctica the ice is melting
causing the sea level to raise, the ice is melting because of
global warming. And the other is “ozone layer up there to
deplete,” showing an image that the amount of carbon
dioxide in the air, is causing the ozone layer to be damage the
lessen it, which we need to protect us from the harmful
ultraviolet rays.
The other analyze is attitudes to language. The register I
used was frozen. This was maintained throughout the poem
to give the reader a view that no response is required. The
person will read the poem and just understand what it is all
about. They will not respond to the poem but just understand
what it’s all about.

Conclusion

In conclusion the topic global warming was about how it
came to be. It also showed its causes and its effects of it in
Trinidad. Trinidad is a small country and is greatly affected by
global warming. This project will shoe you ways to reduce you
carbon foot print and how to cope with global warming.
