RE: Engagement of Professional Services
Dear Andrew,
San Francisco Boys Chorus (SFBC) is pleased to offer you the following contracted terms of
employment as Concert Chorus Accompanist for the 2014-2015 Chorus year.
This Agreement pertains to employment during the September 1, 2014 – May 31, 2015
(“Season”) season only. Your employment with SFBC is “at will”. During the Season, SFBC may
terminate your employment without notice and without cause.
Should you accept this job offer, in accordance with SFBC policy, you will be eligible to receive
the following beginning on your hire date:
Your compensation will be on an hourly basis. You will receive your wages, paid twice monthly
in arrears upon verification of timesheets submitted promptly. Any additional compensation
will be negotiated apart from this contract. No other payments or benefits apply to this
agreement.
You will be paid on an hourly basis of $60.00 per hour for 4.75 (estimated)
accompanist rehearsal hours each week during the Season, excluding scheduled
holidays and breaks, according to the following schedule (subject to change):
San Francisco Campus Rehearsals: Mondays 4:30-7 PM & Wednesdays 4:30-6:45p.m.
Your tiered daily rates for your services as an accompanist at specific engagements and
performances, or preapproved events/workshops that take place outside of scheduled SFBC
program hours will be:
$200.00 total, for up to 4.5 hours
$275.00 total, for up to 7 hours
It is understood that these fees include compensation for all preparation, set-up, rehearsals,
and transportation on the day of the performance/event.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
During the academic year, accompany Chorus rehearsals as assigned.
Attend meetings as assigned by conductor.
Keep master music folio updated and on campus.
Record practice tapes, as needed.
Accompany concerts and performances, as required.
Substitute for other accompanists in San Francisco, San Rafael, or Oakland, as
needed and as available.
Occasionally accompany for tours, as needed and as available.

Terms of employment for Away Camp and Day Camp (if applicable) are not included in this agreement, although it is
agreed that Away Camp is an integral part of the Concert Chorus-level training, and therefore, it is desirable that you
participate in Away Camp, scheduled for June 29-August 3, 2015.
You are required to inform the SFBC Program Office immediately should you be unexpectedly absent so that an
appropriately qualified substitute acceptable to SFBC and its teaching requirements can be arranged.
Health Benefits and Sick Leave:
There are no health benefits offered as part of your employment
SFBC will adhere to any requirements of the San Francisco Sick Leave Ordinance
Your engagement is contingent upon proof of participation in SFBC’s Child Abuse Prevention Training within one year
prior to the start of the 2014-2015 Chorus Year; and a California Teaching Certificate (photocopy) or Fingerprinting and
FBI background check (either to be completed or on file at the SFBC office). Any SFBC approved costs associated with the
above conditions shall be reimbursed by SFBC upon provision of related valid receipts.
To accept this offer, please sign this Professional Services Agreement and return it to the office. Your signature confirms
that you know SFBC’s “No One-On-One” Child Abuse Prevention Policy and California’s State Mandated Reporting Laws –
and that you will make every effort to ensure their enforcement.
