No Meeting in May
The Clinton Democratic Club held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 16 at Trattoria 35 in Bayside, Queens. The room was packed with nearly 100 people as the Club welcomed NYC Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito to Northeast Queens along with our Queens Borough Parks Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski. Speaker Mark-Viverito informed the Club of her priorities as Speaker. Her focus is to empower Council Members to best represent their constituencies. She also discussed the Council’s current task of deciding the budget of the City of New York and emphasized her goals to help all boroughs of New York City, especially Queens. Speaker Mark-Viverito also noted her priorities to work with Council Member Paul Vallone and fighting for resources for Northeast Queens. “As part of the unified City Council, I look forward to working with the Speaker and fighting for District 19,” Council Member Vallone said. Commissioner Lewandowski updated the Club on upcoming events in local parks and offered her assistance to anyone who needed help with trees. Council Member Mark Weprin, Chair of the Queens Delegation to NYC Council, emphasized his support to reinstate the Vallone Scholarship on behalf of Queens Council Members, and State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky updated members on the recently passed budget in Albany.

Speaker Mark-Viverito Visits Northeast Queens
The Clinton Democratic Club celebrated NYC Council Speaker Melissa MarkViverito’s birthday with a surprise cake. She also distributed New York City pins to our community’s children. The Speaker was thrilled about visiting the club and said, “Thank you, Paul Vallone, for inviting me to Queens!”
IMPORTANT: We will not meet in May. Happy Mothers’ Day! We’ll see you all on Tuesday, June 10th at our Petition KickOff BBQ. Join us as we support our local state elected officials! More details to follow.
Community Sports Organizations Visit the Clinton Club
Auburndale Soccer Club, Dwarf Giraffe Athletic League, Shannon Gaels GAA, and DAC Athletic Club shared their initiatives for encouraging sports and recreation in our community’s children. Thank you to all our sports organizations for all that you for Queens’ families!
