Training course The course of studies leads to the award of degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery ( MBBS ) should be a minimum of 4½ yrs and also one year mandatory rotatory Internship . AIM To give quality medical training to the young children of eligible serving Army personnel , ExArmy personnel & war widows/widows of the Army . To really encourage the college students to enroll Armed Forces Medical Services after accomplishment of the course . Eligibility conditions for admission Nationality Candidate needs to be an Indian citizen . Non-Resident Indians ( NRIs ) are not eligible . Prospect need to have passed in the subject of Physics , Chemistry , Biology and English ( Core or Elective or Functional ) individually as well as must have attained at least 50 % scores together in Physics , Chemistry and Biology . Eligibility for admission to ACMS The admission to the ACMS is made for the youngsters of qualified serving Army personnel , eligible Ex Army personnel & war widows/widows of the Armed forces . The young ones of following types of Army personnel meet the criteria and they will have to present the relevant certificate just as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to ACMS at the time of Counseling/Admission : The prospects should fall into any one of the following categories Young ones of serving Army personnel with least 10 years regular service in the Defense . Children of Ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension , family pension , liberalized family pension or maybe disability pension at the time of their superannuation , demise , discharge , Release/ Invalidment Medical Board . Including young ones of employees medically boarded off & granted disability pension . Children of Ex-Army personnel who may have taken dis-charge or else been released after ten years of service . Adopted/Step young ones & children of Remarried Widows

Adopted Child of Armed forces personnel in case adopted minimum 5 years prior to seeking admission . Step children are qualified provided they are born from a wedding where at the least one parent belonged to the Armed forces and who is else eligible . Eligibility Considerations in Special Cases Children of only those Army Medical Corps/Army Dental Corps Officers presently serving with Navy or Air Force are eligible who have served in the Army for at least 10 years . Children of APS personnel classified as Ex-servicemen as per Govt . of India , Ministry of Defence , letter No 9( 52 )/88/D( Res ) dt 19 Jul 89 . Children of APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in ten years of service in the Army . Children of APS personnel who are directly selected into APS & completed 10 years of service and who as per their terms and conditions of service , retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which ten years was in the Armed forces . Children of members of MNS who have ten years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army . Children of TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service . Attention : Young ones of Paramilitary forces like CRPF , BSF , ITBP , CISF , Assam Rifles , GREF and DSC are not qualified to apply for the entrance in ACMS .
