Mary, We use a couple of different background screening companies: Sterling Direct, Hirease and InfoMart. InfoMart's screening process is particularly interesting, because they provide an eligible or not eligible status. You provide the background guidelines and then they decipher the background for you. We have been pleased with all "3" services.

Choice Point (LexisNexis) background screening was fantastic. I probably ran between 50-70 checks a year. The prices were affordable, the turnaround time was reasonable and the customer service representatives were available and informative.

I use ABSO- ( Absolute hire) http://abso.com/ . They are primarily online with competitive prices with pretty quick turnaround times. It is very easy to set-up and run and you can pick which items you want to run for each applicant, and it has legal information built in on what you can run for each state.

I am currently using Trak 1 Technology ( https://www.new.trak-1.com/ ). Our cycles ebb and flow but during busy periods, I might run 10+ background checks per week. The process is online but you can always reach a CSR by telephone if there is an usual delay in screening an applicant.

We've been utilizing OPENonline for most our searches...both online and ordering. They're service is very easy to use and alot of the results come back instantly. We like it because it's a one-stop-shop so to speak...identity verifications, driving records, physical court searches, online criminal records, credit checks, education verifications...very comprehensive.
