1. Backup
1.1.Backup Policy Creation - Veritas



For taking backup, we need to create a policy and will schedule to run periodically.



To create Policy, open the VERITAS Net backup Server console.



Policy creation



Select the Netbackup Management Option from the Left side Panel. It will expand.



Select the Policy and right click. From the Pop menu select New option.



It will open the below window and click the Next button.



Type the Policy Name in the Policy Name Text Box.



Select Policy type based on the policy, we are creating and create Next Button.



Add the Client Name and the select the Operating System from the Hardware and
operation system drop down list.



Click the Add Button.



Add the Client.



Add the backup selection



Select the Backup Type and click the Next Button.



Select the Retention Policy for the Backup Policy.



Select the Starting Time of the Scheduled Backup.



Click the Finish Button.



Now, the Policy is created. Now expand the Policy and select the newly created policy.



Select the Schedules Tab.

Select calendar instead of frequency



Then click on ‘start window’



Sunday morning 8 to evening 5



SELECT 1ST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH IN CALENDER



Then click on Backup Selection



Add the Backup Paths and Click OK.



Now the Backup Policy will fire on the scheduled time.
