Facts About bedbugs
• • • • • • They are not known to be disease carriers They can be exterminated when properly treated by a qualified exterminator They feed on human blood similarly to mosquitoes. They prefer to feed when it is dark and the host is immobile. They are NOT created by poor hygiene or filth They are may be accidentally transported with clothes, Furniture, Suitcases and other personal items. They do not travel far distances Proper extermination for Bed Bugs Should include
– – Thorough inspection by a qualified exterminator The sealing of cracks & crevices in walls and floors. Securing loose wallpaper and eliminating other areas of insect harborage Confirming the identity of the insect Properly treating or removing infested furniture Tenant’s- Assistance with access and frequent laundering of bedding and clothing. Vacuuming carpets and Steam cleaning furniture and mattresses.

PREVENTION TIPS:
• AVOID SECOND HAND FURNITURE. Especially discarded furniture. •ELIMINATE PLACES OF INSECT HARBORAGE, SUCH AS CRACKS IN WALLS AND FLOORS, LOOSE WALLPAPER, EXCESSIVE DEBRIS.
