Scenario/Summary In this iLab with Rattle, you will attempt to transform data using Rattle for different analytical situations. This lab will help you better conform to modeling assumptions and to adjust values based on additional information. The tasks for this iLab are listed below. Understand the basics of data transformation using Rattle. Transform data using Rattle. Students will write answer questions and take notes to rescale, impute, recode, and clean up data using data transformation in Rattle. After you are done, you will submit your completed iLab to the Week 3 Dropbox. Turn in one document titled BIAM510 Week 3 iLab.docx. When submitting the document, provide a comment in the Dropbox comments area explaining what you learned from completing this lab activity. Category Points % Q1: Is Age a symmetric distribution? Why or why not? 10 14% Q2: If we decide to use a Rescale Recenter (RRC) transformation on Income do we need to use one on Age? Why or why not? 15 21.5% Q3: Which transformations change the scale of a numeric variable? Which might change the shape? 15 21.5% Q4: Missing Value Table 15 22% Q5: Using the Binning technique of Kmeans generate a variable that uses Income as the source and has 6 bins. What can you say about the possible relationship of Income and Incurring an Audit Adjustment? Comment on the advisability using this new variable as a strategy to sample the population. 15 21.5% Total 70 100% For each question, provide one or more screen shots to support your answer. In most cases you should need only one screen shot per question. Your numbered answer should appear under the supporting screen shot. Adding your own comments (beyond answering the questions) is optional. The deliverable for this lab is STEP 1: Overview of Data Transformation in Rattle It is important to watch the video below so you can get an overview of data transformation in Rattle. If you are not going to install this locally on your computer, you can use the Citrix environment to run the Rattle program.
