ASCENT Inc. and The ABS Bio-Remediation System

Advanced Solutions for Clean Enterprises (ASCENT) Inc, in collaboration with
Advance Bio-Systems, Inc (ABS Inc), is engaged in microbial system development
for a wide range of waste water management, treatment and recycled waste water
applications.

In tandem with our U.S. based partners we design, build, install and operate patented
systems for biological remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, industrial and
municipal effluent and individual septic systems. The technology is developed and
maintained in collaboration with the Louisiana State University. It has been used in a
variety of projects covered by the Superfund Resource Conservation and Recovery Act
(RCRA), and in numerous industrial and municipal projects.

ABS is one of only twelve bioremediation companies recognized by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The ABS Bio-Cleaner waste water treatment
system is accredited by the U.S. Patent Office with a "Green Patent A¨.

The Technology: The ABS Bioremdiation System

Microbes are a powerful resource for waste remediation. When combined with the right
technology, the process for microbial remediation becomes much more powerful and
effective.

Together with our U.S. partners, Advance Bio Systems, we have conducted extensive
research and have become experts in the field of waste remediation. We have our own
supply of microbes, having a repository of more than 7000 species. Our repository of
microbial species has a wide variety of applications.

We have the expertise and technology to nurture and manage our microbes in a
controlled microbial environment ensuring maximum microbial effectiveness. Maintained
in peak condition, our solutions are robust as we can create custom microbial
compounds using the most efficient microbes needed to treat different types of waste
water streams.

The BioCleaner is a U.S. patented state-of the-art technology that identifies, generates
and sustains microbes to digest and treat all kinds of organic waste water streams in
residential, commercial, industrial, manufacturing and municipal sectors. Unwanted
wasted is broken down leaving no sludge at the fastest rate with the lowest carbon
footprint. Highly efficient, low power-consuming diffusers create aerobic zones, allowing
microbial generations to thrive and reproduce exponentially.

It can be effectively used as well in natural waterways such as rivers, lakes and bays.

How the BioCleaner Works



- The BioCleaner produces oxygen and transfers it to the tank/pond/lagoon
where the good microbes, packed in revolutionary patented media are aerated
and thus activated from their immobilized / dormant state.

- The good microbes then take the oxygen and food/nutrients from the waste
water enabling them to multiply at an exponential rate.

- The good microbes then spread throughout the tank or lagoon to treat the
rest of the waste.

- Each Biocleaner can treat a minimum of 85kgs of BOD total per tank.

Bio-Cleaners are designed and manufactured specifically for oxygen transfer, aeration efficiency
and microbial generation. Aero-tube continuous bubble aeration tubing delivers oxygen in volumes

The system induces a directional current which may be required in stagnant or slow-flowing
waters. An aerator system in operation with three grids is shown in the photo above.

Single-grid, 2-grid and 3-grid BioCleaners (no Bioplugs yet mounted) to treat
low to high strength waste water streams.

2. Bioplugs are microbial bioreactors made from slotted HDPE pipes. They are 3 meters
in length and 4 inches in diameter. These Bioplugs are filled with "medias¨ that are full of
immobilized microbes. Aeration diffusers are also located in the entire length of the
Bioplug to provide oxygen to the microbes.

Bioplugs
(A 3-grid BioCleaner contains approximately 50 lbs of media)

Media Packed into Bioplugs of BioCleaners. We can create custom microbial compounds using the
most efficient microbes needed to meet your waste remediation challenge.


3. Fiber glass angle bar are framings that is 2inch x 2inch x 3mm in size. These are
light weight and heavy duty bars that can be submerge in to almost any contaminant
water. (Our instruction manual has specifications for parts sizes).
Facts About Our Microbes

- Our microbes multiply geometrically every 20 mins

Microbes divide forming new cells. 1 Cell forms 2. After a short period of time,
often called a generation, the 2 cells then divide into 4 cells. These 4 cells can all
divide forming a total of 8. In each generation, the number of cells in the microbial
population doubles. Depending on the tank or pond size, the system is capable of
producing a zillion waste eating microbes per cc.

- Our microbes can work at 20-40 degrees Celsius. Mesophilic Microbes work best at
30-37 degrees Celsius

- If the waste stream so requires, we can provide microbes that consume Nitrate,
phosphate and metals.

- Regardless of the water stream, our microbes remove all organic sludge and
eliminate all foul odors.

- All microbes used are: (1) Bio-Safety Level 1 (2) Non-Pathogenic

4. HPDE plastic walls are to cover about ¾ of the unit; it is composed of four sheets:
3.28ft x 2ft x 2mm. This is to provide water direction and suction.
5. Floaters are made of PE plastic that are 2 meters in length, 12 inches in width and 9
inches in height. This will provide buoyancy to the BioCleaner, making it mobile and use
less power.
6. Air Blower is a single phase motor that uses 1.6kW of power. This motor will
transport 145m3 air/hr. Approximately 3.65 kg O2/hr are transferred in to the
surrounding water.

BioCleaners at Work

ABS microbial bio-remediation systems are installed and operational worldwide,
providing waste water solutions applicable in various industrial, manufacturing,
agricultural and commercial facilities.

BioCleaners at Pepsi Cola Plant (Cagayan de Oro)


Microbial treatment digests all organic matter leaving no sludge. Elimination of sludge has doubled the tank
capacity. 8 BioCleaners are installed. DENR Class "C¨ standards were achieved using only 17 HP. Foul Odors
were also eliminated.
BioCleaners at Tagaytay Hihglands

One BioCleaner (2.1 HP) was all that was needed to retrofit and treat the STP at Tagaytay Highlands. Only 2
tanks out of the 4 original tanks are now being used for treatment. The effluent not only passes government
standards, but is clean enough to support aquatic life.

WWTP of a Carageenan (Seaweed) Processing Plant (Cebu)



Closed Pond System - TSS reduced by 98% two weeks after of operation. The closed pond system
prevented additional nutrients for the microbes (BOD) from flowing in. Despite this COD was reduced
from 7353 mg/L to 719 mg/L just after 2 weeks from commissioning. COD went to a low of 480
mg/L within 1 month of operation.
