person from death. Any healthy person about the age of eighteen can donate
blood. June 14 is observed as Blod Donor Day every year. It aims at creating
an awareness among the people about the greatness of donting blood. The

Blood donation is the act of donating ones blood in order to save
another persons life. !Blood donation is life donation. Accident victims and
those under going surgical operatins loss blood from the body. This is a threat
to their life. A blood donor is actually saving such a person from death. #o
blood donation is called life donation.
An adult person has about $ liters of blood in his body. A healthy
person can donate %&&ml of blood at a time at an intervel of ' months. The
lost of blood of the donor will be replaced within (4 hours. #ince the structure
of the blood varies with people) a persons blood need not always be matching
to all other people.
A blood donation occurs when a person voluntrily has blood drawn and
used for transfusion. *any donors donate us an act of charity) but in
countries that allow paid donation. There are so many situations that
necessitates a person to recieve blood that are loss of blood in accidents)
when blood has to be replaced in the case of certain diseasesb and when a
person is severely anaemic etc.
Blood donation is a great survice . It saves so many lives.
