Even copy writing is more like a science because you can track and test your results. My Story
On July 7, 1954 I was born on a sheep farm in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and knew from the age of 4 that I wanted to be an Engineer. Since I had an agricultural background I choose Agricultural Engineering and got my degree, B Sc (Agric) in 1980 at the University of Pretoria. For 6 years I worked under Johan Badenhorst, a Professional Agricultural Engineer, the father of Technically Designed Irrigation in South Africa. Due to my father's ill health I returned to the farm in 1986 and did consulting and irrigation design on a part-time basis for my fellow farmers. After the most severe drought in the Eastern part of South Africa, lasting from 1989-1993, we lost the farm and my wife and I started our own Computer Service in the small town of Somerset East. We got married in 1979 and had 4 children at the time – son, 2 daughters and another son. We were able to put them all through school and University with our small enterprise where we supplied computers and software to mainly farmers of the district and some shop owners in town. While I was looking after the farm I developed some bookkeeping and farm management software for myself which the farmers loved. In 2003 we lost our eldest daughter in a hit and run accident in Johannesburg where she was studying Architecture. I decided it was time to move on and my two sons took over the management of our business. Now I was able to concentrate full time on Irrigation Design and I specialized in Subterranean Drip Irrigation. Since 2007 I got involved in Internet Marketing and was soon hooked. As being self employed most of my life, I don't have a big pension fund to provide for my old age. Great was my surprise when I earned more in one month online than I normally make in a full year as a Consulting Engineer. It did not happen overnight and I was probably very lucky to find mentors like Mark Joyner, Jimmy D Brown, Mike Glaspie and Geoff Stephen early on. They showed me that I needed to develop a SYSTEM if I wanted to become a successful online marketer. The fact that I obtained some experience in creating websites for my computer clients was also of some help plus my programming abilities came to good use again. On Nov. 20, 2008 my CapturePros.com was founded and Affiliate Workshop followed in April 2009. Soon I was able to build a list of more than 2,000 active members with the help of a few loyal affiliates. My Secret To Success
While studying at the University of Pretoria we had a professor of Physics that gave us this advice. “When you have a difficult problem to solve then first break it down to the bare basics”. It is easy to find a solution for a simple need and before you know it you have the solution for your main problem. I love mathematics because it always makes sense. 2 + 2 = 4 always except where people is involved. (1 father + 1 mother = family of 11 but that is just on the lighter side here in Africa). Treat Internet Marketing like a science and it is easy to find the solution. Here are a few basic figures that you can have a look at. When you send 100 visitors to an ordinary, even ugly, capture page then you will get a conversion rate of about 1%. It means that 1 out of 100 visitors will supply their name and email address and press the submit button. Now add an incentive like a free special report, some software or an ecourse to the page and you can bargain on a ten fold increase of the conversion rate. Tell your subscribers that they can re-brand their gift with their own name and affiliate links and use it as bait to make more money. Now you increase your conversion rate with another 10% percent. Tell them that they will earn 100% on any sales made and you double your conversion rate. Now you might ask why one would do such a thing as giving away all your profit? Because you want to build a list... This is the first secret of online marketing success because you can then follow-up with your list members or even bring them alternative offers. Another figure accepted as the industry norm is that you can earn approximately $1 per month per active subscriber of your list. So if you send 10,000 visitors to your capture page each month you can get at least 100 new subscribers monthly. Now you may be able to earn $100 the first month and $200 the next month. Keep at it and you will earn as follow: Month 1 2 3 4 5 Subscribers 100 200 300 400 500 Earning $100 $200 $300 $400 $500 Total Income $100 $300 $600 $1000 $1500

but I see it as the bare minimum. If you improve your SYSTEM you can reach a capture page conversion rate of 65% which will mean 6,500 subscribers with 10,000 visitors. Say you can only realize 50 cent per subscriber per month then you will see figures like 78,000 subscribers in the first year and a monthly income of $39,000 or a total income of $253,500 for the year. Most of the traffic came from referrals and I managed to send 4,097 visitors there directly from my lists.
