AIMS OF THE College
Merryland aims to enable all of its students to become confident and fulfilled young women with high aspirations and the skills and motivation to become lifelong learners and active citizens of our multicultural and internationa lsociety. We do this by: o Providing excellent teaching in a pleasant, stimulating and safe environment o Promoting the highest expectations in terms of academic progress, behaviour and appearance o Encouraging the enjoyment of learning both independently and with others o Ensuring that every individual feels valued and that her progress is closely monitored and supported o Providing a wide range of extra-curricular activities o Developing skills required to become lifelong learners and members of the 21st century workforce

ASSEMBLY AND RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Assemblies and Religious Education at Merryland are broad and inclusive, promoting knowledge of and respect for a range of beliefs.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
Attending college on time is a basic but crucial factor for success. We work hard to achieve the highest possible attendance and punctuality for all students and rely on total support from parents. Students who arrive late to college receive short same-day detentions, which, along with our comprehensive rewards programme, reinforce the importance of good punctuality.
CONTACT WITH PARENTS
Success at college depends on partnerships between students, parents and staff. We know parents care deeply about their daughters’ education and so strive to be responsive to their needs and views. Each student has a personal planner enabling close contact between parents and college. During the college year there are a number of opportunities for parents to meet staff, including consultation meetings to discuss individual progress. Parents are welcome to contact the college by telephone or letters whenever they wish to arrange an appointment to meet with appropriate staff members.

Education is by far the most important scale to measure the progress of any civilization. History is evident of the fact that the difference between the “Developing” and the “Developed” countries lies only in education, and so we have taken an initiative to uplift the education level in the society around us.
In this new century, WOMEN EMPOWERMENT has emerged as the biggest agenda for development in the world, especially so in the Asian countries. INDIA has imbibed and integrated this movement, deep into its roots, and has emerged as a leader in the world in embodiment of this novice program of educating and thus empowering women.
Time and again, it has been displayed publicly, that the evils of this society like dowry, child marriage, female infanticide, domestic abuse and violence are seen much more in those sections of society which are lesser educated. It is therefore imperative that the girls, which are going to become the back bone of the societies living social structure, must be educated at a good and higher level, so that they are able to root these evils out of this world for ever . If we can contribute to this, even to a small extent , we would consider to have succeeded in someway, for this noble cause.
There are a lot many girls, who wish to graduate, but due to their circumstances, either , the distance, or time or both, do not allow them to attend the regular university classes. We are hereby putting a humble effort to bring education at the doorsteps of such people at the time schedules of their conveniences, and with an excellent faculty to back us up, we are sure they are going to benefit immensely out of that. To ensure the highest standards, we shall be delivering the education by teaching standards, which are at par with the international ones, fully involving power of “technology and technique”.

“The Merryland Group”, a Global Foundation for Education and Healthcare, was formed inthe year 2005. A thought was raised to group together in a way to raise an organization, for the upliftment of the physical and social health of the society, so as to reduce the sufferings, and to make each and every individual around us, a better fit in the society. We recognized health and education as two key sectors, where we required our efforts to be put, in helping us deliver the goods right into the hands of people and enabling a better physical and social health of the population, and thus finally of the nation as a whole. We are proud to have association with us, of, people of highest esteem and credentials of the society. To mention a few….

With more than four decades of Teaching Experience with him, and having taught in INDIA (P.U., Chandigarh), PTU, as well as overseas in the UNIVERSITY of Wisconsin, USA, he is in a perfect position to guide us through. Mrs.Chetan Bansal (MBA) “Director-(Education Cell)” With a huge success behind her in running a number of schools in District Mohali, and Distt. Patiala, she delivers goods with her humble and honorable approach towards this field. Dr. Arvind Sharma (M.B.B.S, M.S.) “Director-(Medical Education & Healthcare)” An eye surgeon of Repute, with more than a decade of Surgical and Administrative experience, he guides the group through for its health related activities. Dr. Sunanda Sharma (M.B.B.S, M.S.) “ Director- Charity Projects” Also an eye surgeon, with more than a decade of Surgical and Administrative experience, she is involved in number of charity activities both in education and Medical field. She has proposed charity for Poor Girl Students in Education as well. Dr. Shelza Grover (Ph.D. in EDUCATION) Associate Director With her rich experience in heading UGC based educational programs at National Level, she guides the group with novice ideas of imparting education.
