PRAYER OF CONFESSION  God of all creation, before time and beyond space, we admit to our human limits as we try to imagine the reign of truth that you envision for us. When we follow worldly powers and stray from the good path you desire for all you have created, created, give us Jesus. Give us Jesus, O God — n not ot a Jesus high and lifted up, but arrested and condemned by authorities, yet with boldness to te tell ll the truth. Speak

WE PRAY FOR OTHERS   The pastor will share prayer requests and the congregation will respond: “Lord, hear our prayer.” After the prayers have been lifted, we will pray together the Lord’s Prayer:  Prayer:  Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  Announcements  Advent Devotional Booklets Booklets — The The Spiritual Care Committee provides free devotional guides for the Advent season, which begins next Sunday. This year’s  guide was compiled compiled by students, students, faculty and staff a att Austin Pre Presbyterian sbyterian TheoTheological Seminary. Please take one home and spend time in scripture and prayer to prepare the way of the Lord. UMW Cookies and More — On On Sunday, December 2, the Advent season begins

the new Christian year. We will celebrate the traditional “Hanging of the Greens” at the outset of our worship services that Sunday, at 8:30 and 10:50 a.m. The United Methodist Women will provide the opportunity to purchase excellent holiday foods and support missions at the traditional “Cookies and  More” immediately immediately following following the sec second ond worship service, u until ntil 1 p.m. p.m.   Anyone, especially youth, interested in participating in the Hanging of the Greens  should contact contact Rev. of Advent the Worship Committee would like to extend to any interested members of the congregation the opportunity to present a short monologue as part of the scripture readings for each week. There will be 6-7 opportunities that will begin on December 2 and conclude on December 24.
