REFLECTIONS ON LIFE The Feast of Pentecost reminds us that we in the pro-life movement are called to be channels of God’s Word: “Counteracting the culture of death demands a prophetic spirituality… We speak the prophetic word that challenges society to recognize the unborn as brothers and sisters, and to therefore repent of practices and policies that destroy them or put them at risk.” Jim pinto, Jr. Coordinator of Missionaries of the Gospel of Life, Priests for Life Newsletter, July-August, 2006)

SHUT-INS AND HOMEBOUND Do you know of anyone (relative, friend or neighbor) who is unable to get to Mass because of illness or disability? Please call the rectory and let us know. We have Eucharistic ministers who go to the homes on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month in the morning. The priests take care of the residents in the nursing homes. Call the rectory and let us know if a family member, friend or neighbor is homebound or has gone to a nursing home. It is important for us to minister to these people. Please help us keep our Communion list up to date.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS will have their monthly business meeting this Monday, June 1, 7:00pm in the K of C Hall. Following the meeting Ham & Beans and Cornbread will be served.

TAKING A BREAK! The Parish Folk Group provides music for the 10:30 am Sunday Liturgy. As in the past, the summers are difficult for them because of vacations and other commitments with their children so they take a break. They will resume when school starts in August. We are very grateful for their generous spirit in sharing their time and talent to provide beautiful music for our liturgies. Under the direction of Pat Jones with the assistance of Mike Elder they have been providing music at Our Lady of Lourdes for over 20 years. Thank you one and all. We will have congregational singing with the organ through the summer at the 10:30 am mass.
