1. Using the bureau of statistics listed state 5 alarming statistics that you feel raise concern amongst our population: - 332 indigenous communities with 50 or more people and 33% had no sporting facilities. - Average house spends $15.70 a week on sport and recreation. - On average people employed in sport and recreation are part time workers and earn less. - Females only on average spend 16 minutes a day on sport and recreation activities. - Only 16% of men walk for exercise. 2. For each statistic list the reasons this occurs: participation in sport and recreation the reason over half (65%) of the Australian population said they had participated in physical activities is because it being very difficult to operate without a release of energy which is where participation in recreational activities comes in. Time spent on sport and recreation Males aged 15 and over said they spend 23 minutes per day on sport and outdoor activities compared to females who spent just 16 minutes this is because around that age males are more involved in physical activities than females. Attendance at sport events Horse racing has a more even balance of attendance between males and females because there is non-sporting activities there that attract both groups and both groups attract each other. Expenditure by households The reason the largest component of the average households expenditure was on swimming pools is because there is a really healthy culture around water in Australia and it also gets quite hot occasionally. Employment and voluntary work 75,155 people whose job was in sports and recreation this was up nearly 23% from 2001 this would be attributed to the rise in population. Facilities 332 indigenous communities with 50 or more people in them out of these 33% did not have sporting facilities this is because of poor organized sport resources and volunteers. Industries the total toy and sporting good wholesalers in 2005-06 was 3,517.5m an operating profit was 253.7m (7.3%) and at the end of June there was 8336 peoples employed that s because as participation rates go up so does demand for equipment characteristics of participants the reason the lowest participating group was 56 year olds is because at that age people s bodies are breaking down or there dying.
