TEENS OUT WORKING (TOW)
TOW is an organization for Oak
Park and River Forest youth
(ages 14-21) who are interested in
earning money by doing outdoor
chores for local residents. Each
young person has a completed an
application, which is on file with
the township. Before engaging a
young person to help you, please
ask if they have a mower and
other necessary equipment, or
if you should provide it. Since
these are young people, they may
not have the tools for the job (but
they certainly have the energy
and the willingness!)

Change:
Rush is a not-for-profit health care, education and research enterprise comprising
Rush University Medical Center, Rush University, Rush Oak Park Hospital and Rush Health.
In the second half of 2010, our Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Care transformed
the lives of 73 people with prediabetes through Project Lifestyle Change:
• 379 people were screened for prediabetes.
• 102 people were diagnosed.
• 73 people registered for prediabetes education and treatment.
• 42 people lost weight — one lost 20 pounds!
All 73 made a metamorphosis.
Because of this tremendous success, the diabetes center is excited to launch the
project’s next stage: ExpAnding Our rEAch. The prediabetes education and
prevention program is spreading its wings to screen, educate and change lives in
Elmwood Park and North Riverside.
