It is important to follow the company standard operating procedure. The standard operating procedure is the outline of everything that can and can’t be done while on and off duty. In the standard operating procedure, everything is outlined for you so you don’t fuck up. If you don’t follow it there are consequences as in counseling or UCMJ action. The standard operating procedure in honor guard is extremely important because it mentions everything about our roe as well as everything else. If we wind up shooting someone for a wrong reason we go to jail. And if we don’t do everything to the books we still go to jail. As fucked up as this place is it is still important to do everything anyone says to keep you from getting in trouble. Anything that you do not to the books in this company will get you in trouble. When people don’t follow the rules they are not using integrity which is need in the army. When you fail to use integrity you let everyone down and people cant trust you. When it comes to the standard operating procedures it is very important to follow it to the tee especially where we work. We are supposed to be better than everyone else not break the rules like everyone else. Something to know: Priviet, hola, hello, annyeonghaseyo, hallo, and salut all ways to say hi. We should know that at our guard post. The United Nations Command Honor Guard guard force standard operating procedures (August 2011) states on page 12 under I.4.D. Guard personnel are restricted from having cell phones while on duty. Also on page 12 I.4.f it states playing of music on computers, radios, or personal listening devices while on duti is not authorized. In the standard operating procedures the general orders are also listed:
1.

I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved. This is important because if you have electronics at your post you are in some ways not guarding everything within the limits of your post. 2. I will obey my special orders and preform all my duties in a military manner. This is important because when you have electronics at your post you are disobeying your special orders because I see our standandard operating procedures as our special orders. Also when there electronics while on guard you are not preforming in a military manner. 3. I will report violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in my instructons to the commander of the relief. Yeah I cant say much for this one At a guard post electronics are a distraction. If you are using electronics at your guard post you are in the wrong. It clearly states in the company standard operating procedure no cell phones or electronics. Whoever gets caught at their guard post with electronics is a fucking retard. I mean granted cell phones make sure that you stay awake at your post because it gives you something to do, but it is still not okay to take with you because it “distracts” you from watching people walk into work. The United Nations Command Honor Guard guard force standard operating procedures (August 2011) states that there should not be cell phones or electronics on guard duty. Also on page 8 3.h it states Never give up on security which having electronics at a guard post which destracts your vigilance is kind of like giving up on security.

Remaining vigilant is important to me because bad things can happen if not vigilant. At my guard post I should remain alert and awake at all times to obtain my mission in honor guard. we are better than the best and should not bring electronics to our guard posts. We set the example around post and that does not include letting ur guard down. i love being an engineer hooah! Using a cell phone while on guard duty is kind of like using a cell phone while driving. There is considerable concern that using a mobile phone while driving creates a significant accident risk, to the user and to other people on the road, because it distracts the driver, impairs their control of the vehicle and reduces their awareness of what is happening on the road around them. The reason I state this is because using a phone while on guard duty impairs your ability to remain vigilant and pay attention to your post just as the same as people have proved in the past while operating a veichle. It could also have the same effects as driving and using a phone. While using a cell phone just a split second to look down can cause an accident in a car and result in death. This is the same as if you are on duty, someone can come in in a split second who is not authorized and kill someone or obtain documents that are classified especially because these buildings are not too secure themselves. We are the only thing making sure unauthorized personnel do not enter the buildings and a cell phone to distract us can allow north Koreans into our secure meva.

Integrity…the state of being unimpaired a steadfast adherence to a Strict or ethical code. The quality of being whole, undivided, Completeness. This is the book definition but what does it actually mean And how does it correlate with our everyday life in the military? The Army defines Integrity as doing what is right, Mentally, morally, and physically. Doing what is right means Being able to do things you are told to do without Having anyone be there to supervise you, to have people trust and Believe that you will do what you’re told, whether it be from an NCO, Officer or whomever may be in charge of you at that time. That’s the reason why they incorporated Integrity within our Army Values. It makes up so much of what we do as soldiers within our Everyday missions. In the Field, the Hospital and especially when Downrange. How is anyone supposed to know if you have their back? If You’re known for not having any sort of integrity? The person to your Left and your right needs to have that trust in you to make sure the Mission Runs smoothly and without incident. It’s all part of being a Soldier. Consistency is key you have to stay with it. I know, I know, Shouldn’t be hard right? But It’s not always going to be easy to do the Right thing. There’s always going to be a “devil” on your shoulder Telling you to take the easy way out, to make that bad decision and that One Time that you jeopardize your integrity; you’re putting yourself into A Hole that’s going to be hard as hell to dig yourself out of. And with Your Integrity being called out your peers will call into question Everything that you do from then on out. A vicious cycle that can take Forever to End, depending on how you conduct yourself from that point On. This is why I say consistency is key. It actually ties in perfectly with. Integrities civilian definition is, a concept of consistency of actions, Values, methods,

measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. Consistency of actions means always doing what is right thus tying into The Army Values. Consistency of values meaning holding on to what Values our parents taught us, such as to not lie. Consistency of methods Meaning always using the right way, not a method that is easier, or less Morally right. Consistency of measures, meaning taking the right Measures to complete a task, not a shortcut. Consistency of principles Means holding onto your core values and not giving them up when it is Convenient, in example maintaining the Army Values twenty four hours A day, seven days a week. Consistency of expectations meaning staying True to the standard. It takes these consistencies to be a true leader in the military in Which I strive to be. I may fall short at times but as long as I know I Have done wrong and police up after myself and make that effort to get Back on track, I know that I can be the soldier I am expected to be. Army leaders develop and sustain the Warrior Ethos through discipline, Realistic training commitment to the Army Values, and pride in The Army’s heritage. Soldiers show their commitment to these guiding Values and standards by willingly performing their duty and Subordinating their personal welfare without expecting reward or Recognition. Integrity of outcomes for some may be hard to describe but as far As I see it, it means making sure the outcome is always positive such as Maintaining a clear record until I end my time in service. This is Why Integrity plays such a large importance in our countries U.S. Armed Forces.
