Feb¶08-Aug¶09 at Gulf Piping Company (IMCC Group), Abu Dhabi, U.A.E as QC & Welding Inspector. Project: Escravos Gas to Liquid (EGTL), Abu-Dhabi, U.A.E The EGTL plant will be capable of converting natural gas into premium environmentally friendly fuel, diesel and GTL naphtha products. The Escravos GTL project will convert over 300 million cubic feet of natural gas a day to GTL diesel and GTL naphtha. The GTL plant will be located adjacent to the CNL Escravos Gas Plant-Phase 1 (EGP-1). Job Role: *Studying the scope of work, contract, company specifications, and standards & perform the work incompliance to the specified requirements. *Performing total quality control activities related to Structural and Piping work as per approved quality assurance plan (QAP) and Quality Control Plan (QCP). Ensuring that: o Weld inspection, examination and test are carried out and documented in accordance with the Quality Control Plan for site activities, verifying the inspection records and validating the relevant results. o Mechanical & Welding works are executed in an efficient manner & specified quality requirements are met. *Raising technical queries & non-compliance clarifications with the engineering. *Reviewing mill certificates, consumable test certificates and calibration certificates of equipments. *Resolving problems encountered during construction, identify the root cause for the problem and notify the course of action through the Project Management Team. *Studying structural, piping drawings (GA¶s, P & ID's, and Isometric, etc.) and
initiating necessary drawing changes as required at site. *Witness performance qualification test on Welding Operators & Welder¶s. *Monitoring & witnesses of WPS/PQR & WQT¶s/MPI/PT/HT. *Checking all welding activities is in compliance with the applicable code, standards and specification. Follow up & provide inputs to Construction on the closing of items required to be completed prior to hydrostatic test. *Preparing hydro pressure test packages and carrying out hydro test checks and pneumatic test. *Witness Hydrostatic Test. Verify for the Compliance of Testing equipment like Testing Manifolds, Pressure gauges, Test recorders, Relief valve, Testing Blinds, Test Pump and Approved Test fluid. *Witness & Monitor post-hydro activities that include reinstatement, lay-up and Painting. *Review and approve the final as built drawings. *Signing off Mechanical Completion Certificate. *Releasing the Tested Piping to the Commissioning team for further activities. *Monitoring the insulation and fire proofing on vessels, piping and structure. *Involvement in pre-commissioning activities like final reinstates/ Mechanical clearances of the Piping, vessels. Fabrication yard, Design center, Modern welding lab and QA lab.
